BF1 Conversion Pack 2.0 information

Visit this thread at least once a week for updates on the patch.

Please note: The release date has changed.

Currently the patch release date is set for July 31st, 2006.

Map Fixes:

All maps will be bug free -- that's the easiest way to say it

Unit/Vehicle Fixes:

Recon Units:
-Remove remote droid (doesn't work anyways)
-Decrease duration of Invisibility -- Rename it to 'Active Camoflauge'
-Increase Sniper Range (first click)
-Fix Award Pistol bug (remove award system)

Commander Units:
-Decrease pistol power (2-shot minimum to kill --- was 1-shot kill)
-Fix Award Pistol bug (remove award system)

KotOR Heroes:
-KotOR Sith Lightning will be toned down
-First Person Arms will be added for all non-jedi/sith
-Skin improvements to Vrook, Jolee Bindo, and possibly Malak


Other fixes:
-_bf1 mode will be accesible via the menus (will be called "Classic Conquest") - For those who don't know, this is Conquest without the new units.
-A total of 8-10 maps with KotOR Hero Assault, ranging from the original BF2 maps, to Rattatak, to Yavin 4!

New Additions:
-BF2 Coruscant Hero Assault (KotOR/Movie era)
-BF2 Mustafar Hero Assault (KotOR/Movie era)
-BF2 Utapau Hero Assault (KotOR/Movie era)
-Rattatak Arena
-Haruun Kal (by Teancum) *Conquest, XL, 1-flag
-Methlyn Ruins (by [GT]EraOfDesann) *Conquest, 2-Flag, 1-Flag, Hero, XL
-Concord Dawn (by Jawa_Killer) *Conquest, 1-flag, Hero, XL
-Raxus Prime (by Teancum) *Conquest, 1-flag, Hero, XL
-Qui-Gon Jinn
-Cin Drallig
-Quinlan Vos (replaces young Quinlan)

What I need help on:
-Bug reports. But BE SPECIFIC! Include the map, the character, the weapon... whatever you can. Screenshots would be nice, but please be sure that they are 640x480 or smaller, otherwise provide a link to the pic.

1 question Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle: Will the patch be a minor addition to the current conversion pack, as in its file size - like is it going to be similar to that of the swbf2 patch where you install it and it just adds/works on from the already pack (that is to say the original pack will be required to patch it) or will it be a totally new 328mb (whatever the end amount comes to) that works as an update therefore not requiring the old pack.

The only reason I ask is because I have not as of yet downloaded the pack due to my feeling of not wanting to download such a huge 'mb' size, then having to download another huge 'mb' size and in the process deleting the old pack. So if I know what your plans are then I can decide whether or not to download the already pack, as I don't really care how long it takes for an update.

Sorry if my English is a bit poor at the moment, just cannot put my strength into typing at the moment as to fully pose my question.

Yes, it's a small patch. Probably 50-60mb.

How exactly would you do that?

If you're going to add chunks fix, won't you have to replace all the main lvl files? I suppose you could do that and still save space by not including the other new sides.

You might consider just switching them all to use 'global sides' anyway. I'm pretty sure that you could hex the lvls of the maps you lost the source to, but I haven't tried becuase the hex editor I use as a 10 mb file size limit. . .

Even if you can't hex the missing source maps, do it with the ones oyu can, there would still be significant space gains and its not at all 'labour intensive' to do it. Just open lua, delete dc:. repeat twenty times. :)

Yeah, I'll be replacing the original lvls if I add chunk fixes. In fact, I might 'unlock' cockpits if I go that far.

I wanted to switch them all to global sides like we talked about in the PM, but I lost 6 of the maps source reinstalling Windows, plus each folder already has the files in the /SIDE folders. If an installer can delete the original recon_units.lvls then it looks I can fix it for the last six maps.

@ JK514 -- Yoda's combos do not work for humans.
I will also see if I still have the files for Yavin 4. I think I deleted them to save space. If I still have the files, I will put KotOR heroes on Yavin.

@ Vyse -- I have no idea who to replace the Revan's combo with. Maybe the demo jedi combo.

Did you read what I said about hex editing?

Inno set up can delete files as far as I can tell.

Yavin1 Arena and Kamino Tipoca City r the only maps that crash for the DVD version. Please somehow fix both.

Oh Darn, the sith lightning being toned down?, I join servers to battle but when I join they say "Sith lightning Only" or we are playing "Bowling" lol... I suppose you could tone it down, it does take awhile to get back up and fight

It's just a spam weapon, so it's getting pulled and replaced with regular lightning. It's just more balanced.

On a related note, Coruscant Hero Assault (a bonus map) is now working. Took me 10 minutes to do! Also, Ace and I figured out a way to shrink the filesize both in the patch and what the total space used in your hard drive will be. What does that mean? Well, quite possibly it means we can fit in another map, or keep the patch smaller, all sorts of stuff.
