Get ready to wet your pants dudes and dudettes with the new trailer and screenshots (each pic is linked) for the BF2142 booster pack "Northern Strike".

Trailer Links

I recommend downloading a decent quality version to get the full mind blowing experience, and don't forget guys that Northern Strike is available to preorder via EA Link so you can get it the instant its released.

Get out your winter woolies and prepare for battle!

It's been "pre orderable" online for a while and I think it went "pre download" on EA Link maybe last week, I can't remember to be honest. The expansion itself comes out on 8th March. A brief look on Amazon shows that you can get it other places than from EA Link, however don't raise your hopes too much as:
Amazon wrote:
  • Downloadable booster pack for Battlefield 2142
  • Please note, this pack contains a code, not a physical CD-ROM
  • Game content is downloaded from EA
In further NS news:
EA BF2142 News wrote: Battlefield 2142: Northern Strike maps are multiplayer specific.
We would like to make you aware of the fact that the maps in Battlefield 2142: Northern Strike are only playable in multiplayer mode. This means that you can not currently play the new maps with bots in single player mode.

Ranked servers dedicated to Northern Strike
Following the release of the Euro Force and Armored Fury booster packs for Battlefield 2 we have seen that it at times has been hard to find the booster pack maps in rotation on ranked servers some time after the release. We have acknowledged this, and are working with our ranked server partners to ensure enough servers for everyone who plays the Battlefield 2142: Northern Strike booster pack. If you cannot find a Northern Strike server to play on please contact your local Ranked Server Providers or EA Customer Services.

Dunno, still finding my way round the maps and haven't had much chance to play, I've mostly been infantry and air. Visually though it's stunning and the maps are great. Although there's only a few it's a good mix. Well worth the £5.99 I paid for it. Generally online the discussion it's the best expansion. I'd love to tell you more but real life has meant I've not been able to play as much as I want to. I'll have given it a thorough testing by tonight. :D

No, it's the scenery, the snowy environment combined with good, varied map layout, eye candy etc... you know, the little touches. :)

The non booster version has a much more dirty, industrial type feel (as you'd expect with those locations). Have a look at some of the screenshots above and compare them with what you've seen in BF2142.

Of all the BF2142 maps Bridge at Remagen has become an instant favourite. Taking a UD-12 Shepherd between the buildings is a real treat.
