First of all, this is just a question. I know this has been asked and answered before.
I'm wondering what would be needed to create ps2 mod tools. I have a HDD connected to a ps2 and I would be able to run the modified game with the homebrew software. Thanks

My question is, what files would be needed?Question #8 - Can you make new maps for the PS2?
Answer - No, the ModTools did not ship with all of the files required for making a mod map for a PS2.
By the way, the main thing I want to do is to only edit and munge LUA's, not make entirely new maps

Re: Playstation 2 mod tools?
It could probably make maps, and technically speaking the tools I put together are prepped to do so, but textures need to be like 1/4 the size they are on PC, sounds need to be compressed something crazy, etc. I had a super hard time getting things to run on the Xbox, and all of it was trial and error, there is no debugger for consoles like the PC version. It's also much weaker than the Xbox. I remember the devs saying they barely got it to work well on the PS2.
Long story short you'll need a lot of knowledge of how the PC version to attempt any sort of mods for PS2/Xbox/PSP.

Re: Playstation 2 mod tools?
As I said, I only want to edit LUA's and munge them. I've already managed to do many things with hex editing(it's almost same as swbf2 pc there)
And yes, I'm playing ps2 version for long time and I have ran into many FPS problems, especially when playing in splitscreen or with high amount of AI in small map like tantive.
Is there any chance I could "increase fps" (yes I know that sounds ridiculous as it's ps2 game) by removing certain effects or some other thing? Thanks
