Hmm, thats why we should use the wookiee or magnaguard skeletons. (but we don't have those to envelope on do we?.....)

Well, bones seem to be in proportion except for the crucial torso parts. I believe looking at the model, the biceps are also too long. Other than that its a perfect fit, won't u say?

Those are simply rescaled skeletons of the standard human skeleton, so they would have the same problems. Really it comes down to a 'how perfect do you want it' kind of thing. Grievous wouldn't look too terrible. He'd be fairly close, but a few parts would be out of proportion slightly-not so slightly. The other thing to remember is that droids aren't enveloped exactly the same as humans, they have appendages enveloped individually so they act more droid-like (a good example of this is giving a SBD Wampa animations, where you see the arms are physically detached from the torso, rather than being stretched). Grievous may not have that problem though, as he's a bit 'more human' than the other droid models.

nope, he does have that problem. Trying to envelope him now(i know, may be a useless endeavour, but hey, bear with)(will feel more sorry for the guy who recieves the export request flabergasted)

To remedy that problem, I thought of enveloping points of where the model did not attach to the adjacent bone instead of the bone it was meant to belong to. This picture explains it:
Hidden/Spoiler:

Attention to the red-circles, the points are of different colours.

I got the hand to deform-stretch as in the adjacent picture, but the bicep still *detaches* somehow, will try and figure it out.

And if the magnaguard and wookiee only use scaled up skeletons of the human, then this should be easier(my perfection expectations are regularly way up, but for greivous ill cut some slack)

Oh, and a final note, i am enveloping the model as-is from conversion, meaning its in the stance as it is like in the last post i did in the pic. Am I meant to align the body parts with the bones like the override_texture included with the template, or just envelope it in its weird pose anyway.

Some of your separation problems may be able to be helped out by welding edges. If there are too few edges to begin with, it'll make your problems more of a stretching nature instead of a separating nature, but if there are enough edges you may get a better result.

If it was me, I would of made a custom all-grevious anim set with renaming the attacks to rifle_stand_fire etc, so it will use his sabre anim to fire the attack. :|

Well when u fire a gun, you don't twirl both hands to the side and flail them out then sprout 2 more arms like some spider-monkey-thing.

He has 3 combo attack anims, the jump attack/land, and the dash attack. All of which, and his other anims, could be chosen as such an anim. Plus, I am positively sure that you can give grevious existing animations. The only thing that can not be done is giving grevious's animations to others.

His skeleton is fundamentally different from the stock human one. You can't give human animations to Grevious. But does anyone have a lead on that reboned Grevious mentioned in the last post of that topic?

Nope, its apparently bust.

Good News is that I'm trying to re-envelope him now. So consider that project mine now.
