Contrail on non-flyers not working

Post by OGEB1103 »

I set up a speederbike (one that is very fast) to have contrail effects on it but they don't appear ingame. CAn anyone shed some light on this?

I basically just copied the ones from the jedi interceptor, and pasted them into the odf; nothing.

Just copying and pastinfg probably wont work, since contrails are attached to hardpoints. Your telling the game to attach a contrail to a hardpoint that was on the eta-2 mesh, but not on the speederbike mesh, so it doesn't do anything. What you can do is look in the damage section of your speederbike .odf, write down the hardpoints you find there, and then use those in the copied-and-pasted contrail lines.

Actually the contrails simply use the dummyroot and have coordinates to move it about from that root, plus i actually changed the dummyroot to the smoke damage hardpoints as you said but still nothing.

Did you copy all of the effects for the contrails?

you don't need to, the contrail effect is in the common folder, unless the jedi star fighter doesn't use com_sfx_contrail
