I installed BF2 on the other pc in my house so if i have a friend over i can play over the lan. I was testing it just a bit ago, it freezes. I can open the game and click instant action (one im testing, not for the lan yet) and i chose a map. I click "launch". the the screen goes black except for the button like thing on the left-bottom. It stays like that until i force exit the game. Which is about 5 minutes.
I have the video settings on low, and the volume mixer, i don't know if its on (its xp, i not sure how to use it). What can i do?

The Instant Action button is for SP. I assume you meant Create, under the MP menu? Can you start up or join an internet based game?

no, i was testing to see if the SP worked, i haven't tried to join/create a internet game.

Are you sure an error message isn't popping up under the game?

not sure about that..
It doesn't have a fatal message, or any. When i popup the task manager it says its not responding

one more thing the BF2_modtools.exe work fine (playing a map)... odd isn't it?

Not really. The BF2_Modtools are a limited version of the game. It seems whatever's crashing your game is one of the things Modtools leaves out.

I don't have a list of what it leaves out handy, though....

Look through your game's folders, and compare them with the working copy of BF2 on your other computer. See if anything's broken/missing.

Have you tried simply reinstalling the game? And is this a stock map or mod map you're trying to play, and have you tried a couple different maps or just one?

Its not the speed, its SWBF2 has trouble with certain hardware (dual cores, some sound setups, etc...). Did you remember to install the v1.1 patch?

i have it uninstalled and reinstalled finaly, i have screens of the audio and video. It still doent work...
when i try to play a map, this is what it shows, forever..

Odd, i'm getting a very similar problem.

i get the same problem too hay have yuo ever tried t joni a agme and cd dosent let yo even you didi nothing wrong maybe thats what casing the problem
