Has someone tested this? Can the cap ships REALLY be destroyed if you take their health down?

Yes, but they just disappear upon destruction because they never wrote any explosions or debri chunks for it. This is something I'm working on. get XSI and make em, chunks and other static objects are incredibly simple to make.

i have XSI modtools and the exporter installed from the SWBF I mod tools, funny, i know how to texture stuff, but i don't know how to even make a box

If crusier will have 50000 hitpoints+shield, and if bomber will have 100 damage hits each bomb - i think bomber can destroy crusier with 50000/100=500 bombs+shield

Well a you would have to do is to make a new object, take out the line AddHealth = 50000 and probably take some health off and you're golden

It would be rediculous to be standing in the hangar of a cap ship, then maybe have a voiceover yell, "our hull integrity is at critical!" Then you have a bit of time to escape on a ship before it explodes, which consumes every ship and person in there - and they go flying out into sapce with the debris.

lol. if you check out Yodaminch's General Tinns Assault map, he made the bomber constantly fire bombs, and if you just fly slowly over a capital ship. parts of it will blow up. lol

One thing to consider is that when you blow up the ship, you must also kill all objects inside it.
Making the ship into the same odf type as the mobile command post, so that once its gone you cant spawn is how it would be done i guess.

Also if we get destroyable Caps, we could make space like Polis Massa(spelling?) outside so the troops die.
Or we could make the Cap ship go down like on Ep.III (The Invisable Hand) and the troops have to try and escape before it reaches a death region..

The force field where you fly trough gets destroyed and all the people inside get sucked outside xD
