No rush, especially with the hurricane situation. I'm just happy with whatever you guys can churn out if you keep up the same quality I've seen.TWINKEYRUNAWAY wrote:Thanks, well today we made one of our videos public. Unfortunately we may have to chill out on the vids seeing as hurricane sandy took out 2 of my recorders electricity. lol but I am still working on certain...projects for you guys.Dreadnot9 wrote:So far I'm really liking the videos, keep up the great work!
It might be kind of cool if you had mod "reviews" so to speak. Where you mainly focus on talking about the pros and cons of the mod, and then give a rating based on it's category (you can't compare an individual map to a side mod too easily).

I have a feeling that this is not working. Sorry for my negativity. But this seems a little useless.

Why? They already have a TON of videos up and it's really up to the people to make it popular.

I've been enjoying the videos. What makes you think it's "not working?" ...and also, what do you think the purpose of the channel is?

Exactly.CressAlbane wrote:I've been enjoying the videos.
He probably just expects there to be thousands of views and whatnot already, despite the fact that almost nobody just jumps ahead of the game like that. The belief is sort of understandable, though, but he has to remember that as long as 411 keeps persisting and trying, they will eventually succeed.CressAlbane wrote:What makes you think it's "not working?"

In my opinion, it'd be best to keep the matter private, keep the channel focused on doing what you guys have been doing. Making great videos about great mods.
An exposure video seems unnecessary to me, and will most likely only create more trouble.

you guys always give the best advice. I will keep this private and of course his name will not be given so he has the benefit of the doubt. After I sent this though he openly admitted to doing this and claiming "he is making our ideas better". I feel so disrespected because I work hard on these videos only to have someone be unoriginal. :/ I am a 20 year old adult and lol it just surprises me that people still act like this. ill probably delete this in a bit I guess.Dreadnot9 wrote:In my opinion, it'd be best to keep the matter private, keep the channel focused on doing what you guys have been doing. Best to just ignore people like that. And hey, mimicry is flattery, so just be proud of the fact that you have a great idea on your hands.

Re: Battlefront Channel (Updated 10-21-12)
You're going to have to remember that in anything - making videos, video games, movies, whatever - there's nothing new under the sun. Your ideas aren't new. There are a thousand other Youtube channels that do similar things, I'm sure. The maps/mods you're taping are someone else's work that was released to the public. What you do have to your name is whatever quality you bring to your commentary and editing. If someone's taking scripts from you? Get hot and bothered. If someone's taking "ideas," move on. And feel free to likewise take inspiration from others' channels/websites - ideas without implementation are worthless.
For the record, this isn't a criticism - none of the SWBF2 work I've done is original either. I just copied and assimilated things that I liked. So has everyone else. In my own words and totally not Pablo Picasso's, "Good artists borrow; great artists steal." The difference between good and great is that one mimics while the other makes something old new again, but in either case, the idea's not new.

I'm with Mav. Just continue bringing high quality [work]* to the table and you'll be fine.

Re: Battlefront Channel (Updated 10-21-12)
Very wise words sir. I am actually in a few art course at my college and inspiration is something that is encouraged(Normally I never truly mind the taking/recycling of ideas). It just really kinda pushed my little red buttons when a thread that was made for modders and my group to work with one another on concepts and map findings was suddenly a stepping stone for this person to leech off of.(He openly said thanks for all this stuff that we put work into making/finding, which in all honesty is my fault for not making that thread private. Though I think I have learned a huge lesson about the kind of information you put on the internet.)Maveritchell wrote:You're going to have to remember that in anything - making videos, video games, movies, whatever - there's nothing new under the sun. "Your ideas aren't new"
You are very much right sir. I know of at least 20 plus people that do pretty much do similar things. (I am trying my very best to do things as different as I possibly can and to do my own thing.) I hope I didn't convey that this was new or the sole source for these things, but I am doing as much different things I can to separate myself from others. In any case though you guys have been extremely helpful with your advice.
EDIT
The channel reached 102 subscribers today! Thank you Marth, WulfMan, Dreadnot9,CressAlbane,Bob,yuke5, and everyone who trusted us enough to beta test their maps and to everyone who contributed ideas and whatnot to this channel. I am working on a new modder interview video with yuke 5 that should be posted up tomorrow and a tribute to everyone that helped make this possible. In short thanks to everyone who subscribed! We really appreciate everyone that comments and watches our content, even if its just to get a link to a mod that leads back to this website.

Off topic:
Something that you could do if the last post on a topic is from you and it was from a long time ago but you need to bump it (like updating new info) so that people know your edit is there is to got to edit and select all of your post and copy it, then leave edit and delete your post. Then create a new post and paste your old post and your new information.
