You be one of the two Spectator Units, and go into the control room. Get into a Remote Terminal, and click the Primary Fire button. Then click the Take Off/Land button then fly around. To get out, hit Enter/Exit button twice.
Rep, are you going to make a V. 2.0 eventually?

All I have to say is that the semi-automatic shotgun has so much recoil that it is
But still the map is awsome Repsharpshooter, and you really know how to make a good mod>

Nice job with the map. I like the spectator idea. Players can actually stand there in the stands and watch the match below. Awsm. Red and blue was kewl and Hero Assault works out nice on that map. The sniper spots are perfect... you can be totally shielded but have a small firing window up in those towers when crouched. Great job. A lot of scenarios can be had on this map.

Re: Battle Arena 1.0
Who put up the dedicated server with just Battle Arena? The first couple of times I joined and it worked fine with no lag or anything and now all of the sudden I can't join anymore, it just says Busy 1 2 3...

Hey Grievous.. any chance you might start joining us on the 1.1 version of the game?Grev wrote:Hey trip, any chance of it being on the GWL competition maps?
Seriously though.. My first thoughts upon playing the Battle Arena map for the first time was what a great map it would be for multiplayer. Someone also asked me in another forum about adding it for tournaments. The key to testing multiplayer IMO comes with not only testing 1 on 1 but also a few ppl in the server and then as many ppl as I can get in the map. It's a process of making sure everything works, there isn't excessive lag and the game mechanics can't be altered in any way and of course compatibility online is essential. My initial look at Battle Arena was promising. I enjoyed playing it, it's got some real potential for competition in multiplayer, and I believe it would be an excellent tool for clans to practice on.
Dueling Hero Assault comes to mind with spectators... watching like gladiator games or something. It's definitely on the list to be tested for multiplayer at GWL. We still have to test some space maps for approval on the space ladders there and that's prolly gonna happen this week. Then I can start looking into Battle Arena.
Edit: I've set up a GWL server running Battle Arena 24/7 with all BAA maps/modes in rotation so the players at GWL can test the map for issues in multiplayer. It shows in the server list as GlobalWF.com Battle Arena 24/7.

When you try and be a spectator class online, it crashes.

Re: Battle Arena 1.0
Um... Sorry for how big of a bump this is... (I don't think its a month old yet...) but, is there something extra that's installed with the map? I was going through Add/Remove Programs to free up some space on my computer, and noticed that "Battle Arena 1.0" is it's own program. It's also over 10 thousand mb's... is this how it's supposed to be? Or is my computer bugging up what the filesize shows as?

Re: Battle Arena 1.0
The 10,000mb thing is just that installer reading how many mb your SWBF2 addon directory is using. Took me awhile to figure out that one.
As for the reason it shows up as something you can uninstall, that's just due to the fact that is used an installer.

Alright, again, sorry for the bump, but it had me worried.
