Exported models has no texture

Post by MissingTexture »

Well, the title says it all.

I exported the .OBJ into .MSH but when i placed it in the msh viewer, there was no texture only a white model. Can somebody tell me if I missed a step?

Only if you tell us what steps you took. :P

Did you convert the dds texture to tga and reassign that tga to the model?

Nope, did not do that

I only dragged and dropped the dds on top of the model in the XSI window.

Was there a specific way to apply the texture to the model?

No specific way, just drag n drop the converted texture onto the model in the viewport. The model needs a texture format that works with SWBF. The model also needs to know what the exact texture name is with extension, this data is passed to the msh format and stored in the material.

Saved it as a .TGA and placed it on the model.
Then i exported it as .MSH but it still comes out white :(

What do you mean by "The model also needs to know what the exact texture name is with extension"

Change the view mod to textured decal and make sure the model is textured in xsi.
