Hello all,

I'm getting a Wii, and being a huge Zelfa fan, I'll probably also get Twilight Princess. However my question is this: Should I get the Wii version or the Gamecube version? I've heard that the Wii nunchuk controller (or whatever it's call) is sometimes a pain in the *** with this game (At least according to this review), so using a Gamecube controller would solve that problem.

I don't think you can use a Camecube controller with the Wii version of the game, but if someone could tell me wether that'd be possible or not, it would be great.

The nunchuk really isn't a pain for me, but I suppose it depends on how used to using it you are.
I'm pretty sure I have the Wii version, if I had a gamecube controller I would check for you.

I loved the Wii version, personally. If you can deal with the fact that Link is right-handed, then I'd say go for it. It's a really different experience because of the motion control.

I personally had no trouble with the nunchuck. As long as you aren't swinging the controller around wildly, it's not going to disconnect anything. The only part of the game where I think the nunchuck could be a problem is with the spin attack, which is triggered by shaking the nunchuck side to side. Again, I personally had no issues with this, but there's always those reviewers that seem to not understand how to use the Wii's motion controls, and therefore say they don't work.

I'd say, if you're really not sure, rent the Wii version. If you don't like the controls, get the GC version. Twilight Princess is an excellent Zelda title on both systems.

Get the Wii version. Take it from me it's much better than the Gamecube. I happen to own both. With the Gamecube, you just don't get the same experience. It's hard to explain, but there's just something about being able to slash at something, rather than just press a button.
The only nunchuck problem I've had is that sometimes I spin attack (swing nunchuck side-side) instead of shield attack (thrust nunchuck forward) because the only thing sensing the nunchuck's movement is the WiiMote, so you have to hold that straight sometimes to get it to work properly. I don't think this is much of a hassle, considering when I need the shield attack against the blocking enemies, it only takes a second try to get the shield attack, and the spin attack stuns the enemy anyway.

Plus, with the Wii, you get an extra mini game, a better aiming system for the arrows, boomerang, slingshot, and clawshot, AND one less button to mash/break since you swing instead of hit B to attack.

I agree with that. I own the Gamecube version myself and loved it - the controls have the same basic feel as all the older Zelda games on the N64 and Gamecube. So if I were you, I'd take the advice to rent the Wii version and see if you like the controls - if you can't the hang of it and would prefer to stick with the classic control scheme, go buy the Gamecube version.

I'd go with the Wii version, as I never had trouble with the nunchuk. As long as it's not being swung around wildly, it should work fine.

Yeah, I doubt you can use a GC controller. That would almost defeat the whole purpose of creating the two versions of the game.
