Having fun with X-wing Alliance

Post by Rends »

Hi guys,
i just reinstalled XWA with all mods u can get from the XWAupgrade project
http://www.xwaupgrade.com/
and it´s fun to play not to mention that it´s still a challenge to finish the missions :D .
I also did some LAN COOP matches with my son and we had lot of fun!

I realy like XWA more than SWBF2 in space missions because XWA is more a Simulation .

I grew up playing the X-Wing series, and they were fantastic. I've never played XWA specifically, but if it's anything like the earlier ones, I know what you mean about it being much more simulation-like, and those are some of my favorite games. I may have to pick up a copy of XWA (if they still sell them :P ).

Yeah the X-Wing series were great. The reason why i sold my Commodore Amiga in the early 90s and got a PC who could handle X-Wing.
There is also a Total Tie Fighter conversion for XWA you can get here:
http://www.darksaber.gaylenol.com/craftpacktftc.html
There are some more Conversions just need to google for it.
It´s great to see that XWA is still under modding. Guess the reason is that there won´t be a new Xwing game out ever.

I suggest you to check ebay to get XWA. it shouldn´t cost much anymore.

Yeah, has XWA not to long ago with the XWAUp craft. That's actually where a few SWBF2 craft came from. :D Great game, and looks superb with the upgrades.

*Sigh* I wish the Battle of Coruscant mod worked on my X-Wing Alliance ..... Maybe it works for you: http://www.bluephantom.de/

Also some interesting clone war ships, other stuff and new single-player missions: http://www.mtdindustries.com/xwa/
