I have never heard of vehicles spawning in single but not multi. Can you post your lua?baneore wrote:Hi, when i put speeders into my map. They work in single player while in multiplayer

Re: Dissapearing speeders
One thing - you should use the "hidden" button for your luas.baneore wrote:wich lua would that be this 1?Hidden/Spoiler:
Hmmm, one thing that got me was the control zones. Have you created the control zones properly? The command posts need to read them (panel on the right), and both region properties need to be named the same. Also, my vehicles would never spawn if I placed the actual vehicle spawn inside my control zone. Is the arrow object inside the control zone?

Oh, you need to create control zones. Have you had any experience with creating regions?baneore wrote:For the speeders? no

No, not really
i have attempted to add cps with the cp tut but, I had problems with where I had the CP and placing the region there, so I gave up.

Re: Dissapearing speeders
Okay, I will teach you how:baneore wrote:No, not really
First, open 'region' in edit mode. In the left palette, click 'new group'. Go down the palette, and select 'box'. Then, place it somewhere near your command post you want the vehicles to spawn from. Lower it into the ground by selecting it (click 'select region' from the left palette), and holding C. Then, hold down the mouse wheel button and drag the region into the ground. Now, select 'object' from edit mode. In the panel at the bottom, select the command post you want to spawn a vehicle from. In the right panel, there is a field labeled 'ControlRegion'. In that field, type 'cp#_control' (# means the number command post you are spawning the vehicle from, as in 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.). Now, back in 'region' from edit mode, in the left panel, select your new box region. Up, to te right, there is a panel with these fields:
Region ID
Class Properties
In both of these, type 'cp#_control' (same # as before).
Now, move your vehicle spawn near the control zone, but not inside it. This is important.
Has this helped?
Also:
If you want to make any progress in the modding world, you need to be persistent. The easiest way to be a bad modder is give up when you encounter a problem. The community here at Gametoast would rather help you with your problem than lose a potential modder.i have attempted to add cps with the cp tut but, I had problems with where I had the CP and placing the region there, so I gave up.

Re: Dissapearing speeders
The control zone should be near the cp, pretty close, but not OVER it. If you place it over the cp, it won't work. And remember to make sure the vehicle spawn isn't in the control zone.baneore wrote:Yes...i think it will...but, does it have to be so close to the cp?
Tell me when you have created the region.

Re: Dissapearing speeders
Most of the box should be above ground, but just a little should be inside the ground, because or else the vehicles will spawn in the air.baneore wrote:after i lower it to the ground, all of the box is still sticking out underground. is that okay or will the vehickle somtimes spawn underground and fall forever?

Re: Dissapearing speeders
I just type in the height section of a region(the part that said "Y") 0. At 0 height it stays pretty sunk and the vehicles still spawn fine.

Re: Dissapearing speeders
I have created the Region, and now have munged and is about to test it *crosses fingers*
:!: The speeders dont show up in multi and dont respawn in singleplayer, did their names have to be added to the lua to respawn?
or, do the speeders have to have been ones that existed before the region?

Re: Dissapearing speeders
Whether each other exists first or not doesnt matter. They just NEED to exist, is all.
Yes, you need to add them in our LUA
Something along the lines of:
And just to be sure:
IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT ALL REGIONS AND VEHICLE SPAWNS AND CPS ARE IN THE SAME LAYER
(example [Base] layer or "con" layer)
Sry for all-caps, but thats what hampered me last time. Just being cautious.

Something along the lines of:
Find that in ur script and add it like here. If you want other vehicles just replace/add the speederbike odf name with another(like "imp_hover_fightertank")ReadDataFile("SIDE\\imp.lvl",
"imp_hover_speederbike" )

Re: Dissapearing speeders
LOL! You have to use vehicle spawns!! You don't just place the speeder, there is a tut on how to use the vehicle spawns in the docs.

Re: Dissapearing speeders
You should download my tutorial. There is a section about adding vehicles. It will save a lot of text here on gametoast.baneore wrote:I have created the Region, and now have munged and is about to test it *crosses fingers*
