Wii or 360?
the next generation war is soon to begin... which side should I be at? LOL now I sound to serious.
which one should I buy, Wii or Xbox 360?
Arguments for a 360:
Guitar Hero 2 (tried GH1 in stores, it's the best game ever!! almost), Halo 3, good chances for many SW-games, awesome graphics, good looking machine and Rare..
Arguments against a 360:
Don't know if there's any other games I'd like (than those mentioned), EXPENSIVE!!! and no Zelda...
Arguments for a Wii:
Cool controllers, Zelda, cheap, new Mario Kart? maybe good?...
Arguments against the Wii:
Maybe the new innovative controls gets a little annoying..., not sure about nintendo anymore after the "fiasco" with gamecube, a little tired of Mario..
Why PS3 is not even in the alternatives:
REALLY EXPENSIVE!!!! don't like sony, PS's history of games is not so good I think (except for Guitar Hero!!), not as good graphics as 360, controller stinks, not so many good games for PS3...
which one should I get? if you can get some other good arguments, please tell me..

I say both...if you have the money.
price of 360 + price of Wii = the price of a PS3 <----That's a steal. 2 amazing consoles with excellent games for hte price of one.
One if you have to choose one over the other, that depends on how you game. Are you casual? or Hard-core? Or both? Rather have new gameplay or stay the same? (By that i mean the controllers)
Also if you can wait go Wii. If not go 360. Obviously 360 is in stock with a load of awesome games. (Gears of War, CoD2 and 3, and many others)
Either way it's a winner.
Wii60!!!!!!!

I'd say I'm something between hardcore and casual... and I definately don't have the money for both consoles... I can barely afford a 360 right now...
and I'm not sure if I want new or the same old gameplay... the new Wii gameplay seems cool but also seems like something that could get on my nerves...
a old traditional controller is good but some variation maybe could be good... but that's what Guitar Hero would be for if I had 360...
two more reasons for 360:
Star Wars Episode 3-game (could'nt make it for GC!! ARGH!!!!)
Halo triple pack...

How many times have you said that?
I'd go Wii60 as well though. If I could, I'd get both, but I don't have enuf dough...nut.
[EDIT]
Oops, I didn't see your comment, ML_916... If you don't have the money for both, get the Wii...
It's definitely the better buy. Costs less, and get more...

now I'm getting more confused...it's a hard choice between these consoles...
one of the major doubts for me when it comes to Wii is that it's nintendo... I've always had nintendo consoles but at the GC-era there was a lot of games that never came to GC (JA, Ep.3, all good shooters) and there was'nt so many good games for that console... that have made me doubt about Nintendo a lot.

graphics, the way games look you know? lol...
most places I've looked at says that PS3 don't have as good graphics as the 360...and the pics I've seen of games from each console looks pretty much the same graphicwise...but I'll probably see it better for myself if I play at both consoles or see videos from both of them..

I don't want to start some mud-slinging war, but my allegiance is definitely with (and always wil be with) the 360. It's just that amazing
However, Nintendo impressed me with the Wii. They've taken a new approach, both with the console and the controller. However, keep in mind the audience the Wii was intended for. The Wii's controller was designed to be a simple setup for first time-gamers (moms, kids, the technologically deprived, etc.). It's an inventive setup that's easy to pick up and play. Most first-time gamers are overwhelmed by traditional controllers. The motion sensor may add more depth to some games, also making it more attractive to long-time gamers who are ready for a change and want to actually wield their controller like the invisible sword that it is in some popular ninja game.
Game preferences are also another factor. The Wii is backwards compatible (not sure how; might be downloads) with all previous nintendo games. If your a fan of all the old-school classics, go Wii. You'll also get the 50 different remakes, rehashes, and 3d sequels to all the games, but some people like that option. The Resident Evil series is another reason to go Wii.
When it comes down to the 360 and Wii, it's your gaming style that matters:
Wii:
old school games, Resident Evil, revolutionary controller setup, cool modern look of a toaster from 2055 that cooks bread with lasers (that's what I think of when I look at it), simple and functional
360:
state of the art graphics, triple core processors, blockbuster hits (Gears of War, Halo 3, many others), media connectivity (hooks up to Windows Mediacenter PCs, store tons of personal info and media on removable hard drive, Live Anywhere coming soon), clean and curvy hourglass styling, personaliztion (the faceplates, criticized for being a vain gimmick, but I like it and the idea in general), great for the hardcore gamer that wants it all
And for all fairness (probably not), the PS3:
it's Sony (good enough for many), looks like the Darth Vader edition George Foreman grill, the Australians will have great fun throwing the controller, knowing it will always come back to them, Blu-Ray, something should be said about the graphics even though I know nothing...
Seriously, they're all three great in different respects. I'll admit Microsoft goofed by making the HD drive a $200 seperate purchase, but that makes it the same price as the PS3 ($400 360 package + $200 HD drive = $600 PS3), making the Microsoft/Sony competition fierce (as always).

360 wins by a longshot. The only good thing about the Wii is the Nintendo made games like Mario and Zelda. Besides that it sucks. Gamecube graphics or worse, horrible "TV" controller, cost less than the Gamecube started out with, and as -_- too many "family" games. I want Halo 2 like games on it.
Also, will the HD-AV plugs (the ones form the system to the TV) work for a non-HD TV or not?
I thimnk the thread should be changed to XBox360 vs. PS3 vs. Wii

No, some of the best games are on the consoles. Gran Turismo, Forza motorsports, Army men 3D (the best PS1 game, hands down) and some others that I'm sure alot of people can name. I agree that the PC will ultimately win the power wars, but will not win the hearts of thousands because it's easier to pick-up a 360 or PS3 than buy all the stuff needed to make a good comp.
Thank you!!moncalamari wrote:The only good thing about the Wii is the Nintendo made games like Mario and Zelda. Besides that it sucks.

No offense to all PS gamers, but Playstation all in all, stinks.
I haven't played one game on the Playstation that I have liked.
Xbox and Nintendo, on the other hand, have way more classics than I can name. I would get an Xbox 360 just because Xbox games usually rock and of course that little reason..
..Halo. Duh!
But if you can't afford the Xbox 360, the Wii, although it has a lousy name for a console, has an awesome variety of games. I also like the idea of the nunchucks. Being able to use your actions to make the character swing a sword or throw a punch. It's also backwards compatible with every single game made by Nintendo.
But computers are for me. I might get a Wii or 360 some time or another, but for now...i'm good with a computer. If you can't mod a game without causing ultimate destruction to what you're playing the game on, then I say it's not worth buying. Lol
.
That's my opinion.

no it should'nt. you know why? because I made this topic to get some help in my choice between Wii and 360 (NOT PS3)...moncalamari wrote: I thimnk the thread should be changed to XBox360 vs. PS3 vs. Wii
I hate to say it but you're wrong there...one of my favorite things in gaming that no PC has: Split-Screen!!! it's just so fun to have a really great game be 3-4 friends in one room and then just go mad all over the game... nothing can be compared with that...Bah. Consoules. When will ppl learn that the PC OWNS ALL!!!! (buy a good gaming PC and lots of games...wii and 360 will be crap in 2 years anyway )
and it's really expensive with a PC...but one thing that's better with PC is that games can be modded and I can find some good downloads for a game... and I don't know how to build a PC and just a graphics card (expensive one) costs as much as a 360 here in Sweden...so it's not worth it..
don't misunderstand , I love those PC-games I have but my comp can't take much more now...there's barely any new games that my computer would survive trying to run it... I need a new console!! (or someone to rebuild my computer and pay for it)
still a hard choice between 360 and Wii... but maybe that's just because I've had nintendo-consoles since the NES-era... Gamecube dissapointed me a little so I don't know if I can trust nintendo anymore, some of their best games were made by Rare and they work for Microsoft now...
Really hard choice...
