Re: Pokemon Heartgold and soul silver
Whole game was leaked sometime today. Trying to avoid certain character's sprites (Red, Green, "the Boss") until I get the games myself, this weekend, but anyway, here's the entire Pokemon sprite collection in the game (really big image):
Some of these look really good, almost as if they were hand drawn and then exported to the game. The rest were just ported from Platinum

This is where I keep my little trust in Nintendo. They NEVER fail music-wise except in Mario and that one really annoying Fire Emblem song.Fusion wrote:Also: They have not disappointed in the music department.

Re: Pokemon Heartgold and soul silver
personally i want a ds =P so if u got a old one, ill be happy to buy it =P
but Gold and Silver were my favorite pokemon games of all time, of course i never played diamonds and pearl, but when ruby and sapphire came out, i felt like it was a well executed remake of pokemon, not an addition to it, almost 3/4th of the original pokemon were excluded and cast away, and it was a great engine and all, but i felt it was more a repeat of red and blue, except you couldn't catch all the legendary pokemon without trading (whats with that hurt my feelings)
while gold and silver it just added in pokemon, making it feel like a real addition to the game, plus you could time travel (kinda weird but it was actually pretty sweet.), plus after you beat the game you could visit the places of red and blue, and you could go face the technically "final boss", (but no safari zone =(, but with them adding a new safari plus even more pokemon thats really sweet!) they just made my favorite installment 10x better,

Red and Blue were amazing and then Silver and Gold were the highlight of the franchise. I'm excited for this remake. Most likely will buy, just don't know when.
I still think gen1 has the best starters.

Those sprites look great! I wonder if they will animate. I think the music has always been a win for Pokemon. I've even thought about recording it and putting it in one of my BFII mods.

I was hoping that the game could trade with the GB games some how, but's that is not very likely. A shame too since I had some good Pokemon in yellow...

Depending on how they implement it you could go straight there, or to FireRed first, or to Silver first. Regardless, I'm pretty sure you could find a complicated way there no matter how they implement it.

Re: Pokemon Heartgold and soul silver
Yeah, that will never happen unfortunately. They're built on two completely different engines. The R/G engine was used through Crystal, and it's no longer used because it was the glitchiest thing to work with and was nearly impossible to delete areas from.* Also, the R/G engine could only support 256 pokemon, moves, trainers, items, etc. Yes, Red, Blue, Gold and Silver all had 256 pokemon. You might know the hidden ones. They're called MissingNo., []= 'M []=, ?????, EGG, etc.
*
Funny how 3 of those made it into HG and SS (Safari, Cerulean Cave, ! and ? Unown)

My bad, I had the misconceived notion that Gen 1 could be transferred into FireRed or LeafGreen.

I read this on a YouTube video of the game's soundtrack.

I know, I was so excited when I heard about that.
At least now if people are going to be like "This music is not as good as I remember it!" they can actually go in and see how "good" it was
And my games are due Monday. Thank you who ever decided mail will never be delivered on Sunday.

I knew since they remade FR and LG that they would redo this one. It was but a matter of time. Although I probably won't buy one.

Re: Pokemon Heartgold and soul silver
Actually, after a, what, hour-and-a-half long conversation with fusion about the pokemon games overall last night that started with me asking him if I should just buy XBL now and somehow got to pokemon, now I kinda want to get SoulSilver, if only for nastalgic value, considering that I had Silver and loved it, but can't seem to find it (or Ruby, or Emerald, Or any of my other favorite pkmn games) now.

I'll but them both, purely for the nostalgia, and for that damned contraption that made it impossible to save in GS after a few years - the clock battery.

You can fix the save battery, but to do it you need about $5 and the ABILITY TO MELT STEEL.
Oh, and there's an event involving the plot, kind of spoilery:
You battle him, too. Level 40-45's, nothing special.

Gary is the Red/Blue rival, the rival I was speaking of is Silver, the guy who kicks you and steals a starter.
