And I'm betting you could also make collision objects in XSI.

A Saleucami http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Saleucami map would be good, one was made for swbf2, put loads of speeder bikes on it 74-z's and BARCs

Well, collisions would be very simple shapes, wouldn't they? Circles and squares etc.

I believe perhaps some of those were meant as background objects though.

yeah some of them are used in theed around the palace. and collisions are usually invisible merged copys of the other objects.
