Yes, but the game won't work well, as it will crash frequently.

You can have a million -- but only the first 500 loaded into memory will actually work. The rest will crash.
In short, no.
In short, no.

Hmm. Maybe someone could make a program that can switch certain mods around, one part in BF2, other in it's cache, that way you can have over 500 missions w/ the game working right...

it would be simpler to make a .bat that switched your addon folders around, so you could have addon, addon1, addon2, addon3, so on and so forth, then just run the bat to switch them.

You can't do that while the game is running.[TFA]Padawan_Fighter wrote:Hmm. Maybe someone could make a program that can switch certain mods around, one part in BF2, other in it's cache, that way you can have over 500 missions w/ the game working right...

Moving maps around with Map Manager
That sounds similar to what Zerted's Map Manager can already do, it can move maps from addon to backup and vice-versa.DarthRogueKnight wrote:it would be simpler to make a .bat that switched your addon folders around, so you could have addon, addon1, addon2, addon3, so on and so forth, then just run the bat to switch them.

Yes, but the Map Manager serves a different purpose (keeping maps up-to-date, not saving extra missions)

Re: It is possible to have more 500 missions lvl ?
In the early years of SWBF2 modding, we had a listing of all the used map ids. This allowed people to choose map ids not already taken. However, some maps did have conflicting names. This was before we knew that you didn't have to use a three character id and before custom game modes and eras.
The Map Manager was supposed to manage maps and mods. In theory, it knew about all the downloadable SWBF2 maps. You would be able to browse through all the maps, look at screenshots and info about them, and select ones to download and install. It would do the downloading and installation automatically. It would allow you to manage maps with the same three letter id. You would be able to switch between which maps and mods you had in your addon folder before starting swbf2.
In practice, the Map Manager had only Alpha and Beta releases. It was never completed. Right now, it only moves maps from the addon folder to a backup folder and back. It was the first large program I ever wrote. I wrote it while I was taking my software design classes, so I kept rewriting it to apply what I was learning in school. Thus, I spent tons of time rewriting it and never adding more features.
I don't recommend using it. All it does is copy files from one folder to another (and I've never ran it under Vista...). You can easily do that using Windows Explorer.
If you want to remove the 500 mission warning and see the additional missions in the map list, delete AAA-v1.3patch's addme.script. However, random missions will start crashing on load.

You delete addme script after or before installing in menu bat ?

It doesn't matter. I don't think menu.bat touches addme.script
