Dantooine? Really? When I think of Dantooine, I usually think of the Knights of the Old Republic Dantooine, which looks nothing like the map I'm working on. Plus, I'm already making a Dantooine map.

Really? I thought he had a red kama. And by commando pistol, do you mean the pistol the Republic Commandos use or the one from shipped Battlefront that the Jet Trooper and Clone Commander use?

Really? Because the ones the Jet troopers have are smaller and more shiny.

Well, it's been a while since I last posted here. I haven't really had anything to show for the past few days. Anyways, I've got good news, and I've got.... more good news.

Firstly, and most importantly, all my ZeroEditor problems I was having with my main computer are fixed! I'm now 100% back on track, and I'll be able to get stuff done much faster.

I've also got a new map today: Geonosis: Arena. Now, I've seen this map done a couple times before, and the thing that always bothered me was how flat and open it was. I know that's how it was portrayed in Episode II, but it doesn't make for very good gameplay. I made sure to give mine plenty of height variation, rocks, hills, whatever. I'm also planning on creating a simple campaign mode to reenact the arena scene from Epsiode II, where you'll play as the Jedi and hold out in the middle of the arena, fighting off battle droids, Jango Fett, battle droids, an acklay, and more battle droids. More info on that soon.

Without further ado, here's some screenies.

Oh, and by the way, this isn't that big Geonosis map I was alluding to earlier.

I think you mean "alluding." 8)
Anyway, looks good! Too bad you can't add a Reek or Nexu in there, I've always wanted to see one in BF2.

I couldn't think very straight when I was writing that. IE8 kept scrolling the text up and down randomly. :P

I wish I could add a reek or nexu, but that would be an insane amount of work.

That map is coming along nicely, and you're also going to add a campaign...This just keeps on getting better. Oh, and idk if you have already, but make sure to add some geonosians and possibly geo turrets in the campaign.
And, in the campaign, will the player be a normal jedi or one of the heroes like Mace or Obi?

The player starts as a normal Jedi, and the unique Jedi are unlocked over time. I'll probably make the unique Jedi you can play as random. :P

Ok, that makes sense.
Wow. Randomness is everywhere in mods these days...Random sky, units, terrain, heroes...it all adds to the replayability of the map. Good luck continuing this project Xavious. :D

Yay, randomness! browngt

Seriously now, great "double-good news", Xav! Nice to see you back on the mapping scene.

One question though, are you going to revive that underwater map you were making a couple months ago? Gylesh, was that it?

Of course I'll finish Gylesh; I said I would once I had the ZeroEditor problem fixed, didn't I? :P

Oh, and I do love randomness.

Randomness seems to be the hit thing in modding right now. It always adds a new look to the map whenever u play it.

Likewise. Just asking, have you got random skies/effects/lighting set up for any of these new maps???

Oh and that Geonosis Arena map looks like the best one so far (which admittedly isn't really saying much...so I'll just say it looks ike a good map.).

No, and I'd prefer not to for most of the maps, because most of them are based off a specific place at a specific time and changing the time of day would make it not the same as it was meant to be. If I'm making any sense here.

Campaign mode for Geonosis Arena is just about done. Here's a couple quick screenshots from the campaign mission. Notice the fixed Arena model, thanks to DarthD.U.C.K.
