Huh. I guess learning to model in blender would be more useful than xsi. What modeling tools do you use in blender the most? Extrude and ??? Sorry I am trying to learn.

However if you wanted info for your own education... here are some useful things in blender:
1 The knife tool (in later versions). Extremely useful for making complex details (such as the visor on the rc)
2 Deleting faces. I tend to do this a lot, you can create better topology by manually creating faces.
3 Merging vertices. Helps when you need to patch up disconnected edges (which make sharp edges)
4 Flipping normals. YES! The model saver when the texture is inverted. :p
You might have missed my edit.

Yes extrude is very useful. I started with a cube and extruded it into the rc. So yes a tool I use frequently. I scale the model a lot when I need a certain shape such as a piece of armor. I simply would scale on the z and y axis to make it look like the armor is there.

*Finally comes back to RC WIP*

It's been a while since the last update... this update will hopefully make up for that.
Changes:
- All of the lower body besides feet edited (pelvis completely new)
- Various texture/UV edits to the lower body
- Arms are bulkier
- Right hand now has its own armor piece and texture

Alright. That may seem like a little but it is actually a lot more detail than my usual updates, here
are some screens:

Wow! looks really good! I only can say that the thighs need to be a little bulkier, and to maybe add a normal map. Then it will be perfect.

Great work on the arms! You should try to make the legs have that same feel, y'know? "bulkier", to say

Looking AWESOME!! May I ask why he is using a Westar Blaster instead of the Commando's usual rifle?

Thanks, the reason why he has the Westar is because I have no particular mod that actually has a full out RC loudout. Currently I have the model replacing a re-skin of the stock phase II trooper for testing.

Here's something I've been wanting to post for a while now. In the video below you get to see how the RC looks as he moves around with stock animations, since lots of people will probably be using stock anims for him. You also get to see the vibroblade attack in first person :D !

Gamorreans vs The Knuckle Blade (feat. cheesy techno music)

I apologize for the bad fps.

Very nice. But I believe, the videoquality is too bad to permit to me a judgment about the fp animation.

If you want i can upload some things from my rifleman commando for you ;)

I really like it, I hope it has a satisfying sound effect to go along with it. I kind of think he should put a bit more of his body into the punch, to make it look stronger. Amazing work.

*light switched on*

Wait... what? It's been that long? Yes it has, but now Mr. RC is awake.

I've been spending some time focusing on small designs to improve the accuracy and quality of the rc.
So far I've done the head, which is now using a different variant of the rc texture. I'll be releasing both
a clean and not so clean variants, that way it will be easier for people that want to skin.

Here are some solid screenshots of the helmet:

If there is a good solid screenshot of the previous helmet build you should be able to see a difference.
Moving on here are the textured screenshots, again this is a different variant of the texture:

Backside texture very very good. The front need some more work (the upper part of the helmet, forehead) it looks stretched

I have to agree with Anakin. But I think you did a very good job getting the detail on the cheek / jaw area. Can't wait to see more!

Hmmm... I think that the hand pads looks small-ish because there is no arm to compare it to. I can always double check the scale with some of my references.

Anyways here are the results I've been wanting for a very long time. :D

Unfortunately the weights were all messed when I exported. (also it is a mixture of the skins since they both are not complete)
