there is a pretty comprehensive tutorial that comes with the tools "Mod1 tutorial" failing that there are also tutorials on GT in the downloads/tutorials section. All that being said I did find Sat's the easiest to follow.

Give the forums a thorough search as any question is bound to have been asked numerous times before, it saves needlessly starting a new thread and making it harder for other new people to find the same answers.

Finally I will leave you with this quote from Sat in the ultimate tips and tricks thread:
If you want to ask questions in forums, be polite and use your head. Read this first:

Water is covered in Sat's tutorial, it's the orange Lava. Vehicles are (believe it or not) covered in the tutorials section of downloads: http://www.gametoast.com/modules.php?op ... tit&lid=64 as well as there being one on XSI etc.. Sat also has one on skining units, and rain, effects, in fact almost anything can be found amongst the forums here. To have it all (every possibility and variable) all in one tutorial would not only be a massive tutorial but also a highly confusing one. The best thing to do is start your project using the basics, when you want to apply something new to your map, do a series of searches and you are bound to get your answer, check the stickies first but there really is more than enough information available from a variety of sources. The one that accompanies the tools is (like I said before) pretty comprehensive or at least a good starter. But you will be very disappointed if you are expecting anyone to devote the majority of their time to create a tutorial that covers everything. It's very easy to critisise things when you don't take into account just how much time and effort goes into them.

Again, search the forums and web to find your answers, yes Google really is your friend, however GT has everything, fairly easy to find with people willing to take you through it step by step if need be. I strongly erge you once again to visit: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#rtfm

I disagree. Making a good tutorial takes lots of time. And most people dont have much time ;)

SK962, currently there are 13759 posts in this forum, each one will be partly about "how do I..." or "why does it...." etc... and there are well in excess of 1000 topics and then in addition to that is the XSI forum posts. Now bare in mind that each one doesn't go into complete detail for instance exactly what parts of ODF's mean what and what they effect, or the many other vaiables for REQ's and MSH's etc... as well as skinning and animation to name but a few, you could see that to compile this information would take a massive amount of time and expertise. You would have to add screen shots and clear simple wording to each and every part of the tutorial so that everyone could understand. All that being said, if someone started work on it now it probably wouldn't be done by the time SWBF2 came out. Use the tutorials available to at least start work on a map, Urdor Hakon is a great tutorial to start on. Get a feel for the process and how long it takes, this will give you some idea as to time frames etc... and also how little help constantly asking "when is your map going to be released" doesn't help. Sorry to be a little harsh now but judging by your first post even if there was a complete tutorial available you probably wouldn't find it. You really must get used to using the SEARCH facility here.

Right, you know where to find the info, it sounds like you've got the tools, get an idea and then start turning it into your very own unique map, trust me the very first time you see something simple that you've done for a map is extremely rewarding and it only gets bigger and better from there. Ok well looking forward to your first map and if there are any questions to which you can't search and find the answer to then don't be afraid to ask. :)
