EDIT: I'm very sorry if there is already a tut out there explaining this. And if there is, could someone give me the link and lock this? Thanks!

Remotely control a ship with spa_veh_turret_chair?
You know those chairs in space (spa_veh_turret_chair) that when you get in, you get to pilot a new object such as a turret? I would like to know how to set up my own, but like have it control a ship...... Or something....... Can some one tell me how to do that? Thanks!

Re: Turret Help
when you place a turretchair in ZE a propertypage appears which lets you enter the turret to which you want it to be linked (if you dont know whet exactly to enter create a spaceworld, open it in ZE and look in a chairs propertypage for an example)

Re: Turret Help
Thanks! But is it possible to make it control a ship, or something else like that?

Re: Turret Help
If you set the link of the chair to a ship, I gues you could.

Re: Turret Help
Yes, I agree that it'd surely need some tinkering outside ZeroEditor to get that to work.

Don't ask me for the actual codes, I can't code (yet). I've read about it alot, I only wanted to give you my opinion/thought on the question "would it be possible". I'm not more than someone with an idea

Re: Turret Help
I can dig it...... I do have a question, do you have to have more than one chair? Like, the NextLinkedTerminel and the PrevLinkedTerminel? Or can you just ignore those?mswf wrote:Don't ask me for the actual codes, I can't code (yet). EDIT: Ok, here is what I'm trying to do. Have you played the map, "Battle Arena"? If you haven't, Please download it so you know what I'm talking about. When you become a spectator, there are those remote terminels that you can get in. And they control a little camra ship thingy that you can fly around. That what sorta what I'm trying to do. If any one knows how, please post here. Thanks!

Re: Turret Help
I don't think so. In battle arena 1.0, Repsharpshooter used the same chairs too, but he did use four of them. Each individual chair was linked to some sort of probe ship you could fly around, without dying if you crashed it into something.

And that's almost what I want to do. Should I just pm him? I wanted to post here so all could see, but.......mswf wrote:I don't think so. Re: Turret Help
You could try that, though I think that you could try to state your question in you topic title more clearly next time.

I believe those were turrets with movement properties but I could be mistaken.

Re: Remotely control a ship with spa_veh_turret_chair?
You can remotely control any entity with a turret; it is the same kind of control you have when dispensing a remote droid. All you need to do is have the linked object (or in the case of a dispenser, the ordnance - which is the entity's odf) have a "PilotType" of "remote."
