I happen to know of a commando droid that has been in production for about 2 months now...

Hehe thanks for helping me out there Sky. I really like the way the texture turned out, when you see how basic it is. I finally learned some UV'ing, and kind off enjoy doing it! I'm now working on the BX-Series Droid Commando, also from scratch. Working from scratch gives a better, cleaner end result as when editing shipped models. Anyhow, I got some pms about using the Tactical Droid.. The msh will be for Sky, and he can decide what to do with it. The Commando however, will be downloadable in my release topic in about a week or so.

Just as a quick question, will it have the clone skeleton, so you can use the disguise kit without the clone looking... funny?MandeRek wrote:Hehe thanks for helping me out there Sky. Tactical Droid: Not really, he'll have a new skeleton. Only 'funny' thing about the Clone will be he has a bit stretched underarms.. Without this new skell, the hp_active would be off, and the hands would move weird. Anyhow i kinda like this.. You can see which one is the 'disquised' clone now..Super_Clone wrote:Just as a quick question, will it have the clone skeleton, so you can use the disguise kit without the clone looking... funny?
Commando Droid: I think, and hope, that i can make him good-looking enough on the normal skeleton
(offtopic: what is the odf/lua for this weapon btw?)

Re: SWBF Series Model Showcase Thread v3.0
Figured I'd try something different for a change, and I actually learned something new in the process.

Uh... This model isn't for SWBFII, but since we don't have a "non battlefront showcase" I figured I'd post it here. Should we make a non battlefront showcase?
EDIT: Just realized how big the first image actually was....

Nice man.. Here's the model of the day, at least for me, since i started and finished it today. It is completely from scratch, except the hands, they are modified assets hands. Texture is very basic, some good uving can make a great looking total picture! He's not 100% canon, but i'll leave him like this, since I wanted him to be like this!

Yea, I don't think the chest should be that wide, maybe a little thinner too.. I know you said you finished it, but that just kinda makes it look odd, but asides from that, Its amazing! I hope to see it in the released assets forum soonDEVISS-REX wrote:@Manderek: i love you lol, only the torso should to be less width

Re: SWBF Series Model Showcase Thread v3.0
@Manderek: Like everyone else said, looks great but the torso is too big. But if only to break the redundancy, here's a reference picture:
The torso is actually extremely skinny, maybe as skinny as an arm. As for the rest of the model, overall it looks fantastic
You should probably the skin less 'scratchy' looking and stick avoid using such a wide array of shades of gray though. In the cartoon, the body (not the joints) are just one shade of gray.
@Frog, when imageshack brings you to the page, scroll down to the bottom and there should be a direct .jpg hotlink that you can use. By the way, you need a wireframe picture also.

[Edit]
I dunno if this counts, but I feel like I ought to post this since it came out pretty well. Its pretty much just a kitbash but I took little pieces from about 7 or 8 weapons and extensively modified them to put this thing together. I drew the idea from a cross between a BAR and an AK47. Tell me what you think.

train, I normally don't like the idea of kitbashing, but that looks amazing.

The texture on the top (and probably the bottom) of that stock needs to be reworked, but other than that, looks good. You might even think about darkening the stock to match it up with the texture for the rest of the gun.
