I'm asking this question more experienced modders out there. How difficult would it be to re create a map from other games such as call of duty or timesplitters 3
Also how long do you think it would take?

Re: Map from other games
it depens on who made this and how much are working on it.
You'll need much new object, so you need to be good in XSI. And you'll need lot's of new textures, so you need someone good in PS or Paint or gimb.
If you want a quick result you can do this in about half an year. If you want an awesome result you'll need about a year.

It's all dependent on if you could rip it. Then you'd have to convert it into a map, which would take a while. But even before you could put it into a map, you'd have to decrease the poly count a ton. And of course a lot of things wouldn't work properly either, so there'd be a bunch of different problems to work out.

Re: Map from other games
If those games have their assets released (So most games fall out here) you might be able to convert the object. You will have to convert all images to .tga images all models to msh and so on. Then you need to recreate the maps in ZE. If those games work with heightmaps you can extrac the terrain too. Then you have to place the objects in ZE.
if it is possible, its very time consuming. If you look on mods like halofront or Mass Effect mod, you see how much effort has to be pumped in to get a good result.
If you have to rebuild the objects you have to learn XSI an Photoshop or gimp
I dont know why i describe the prerequisits, its easy to conclude: If you are not experienced forget it. If you would be you wouldnt as such a question

Re: Map from other games
well im not looking for exact replica, more like a map tactically based on existing maps, if it was fairly small map with not many objects I might be able to do it I think, for anyone curious out there, im think of some modern warfare 2 maps
for some reason Scrapyard always comes to mind
