Help writing this tutorial?
I just wanted to know if anyone wanted to help writing this tutorial? I have begun the process and each item that is covered is something that someone can write individually. They can even get credit for their writing!
If you're interested, please let me know. Anyone can do it! They just need to gather the info and write it up!
If you're interested, I will contact you about the format. If you don't want to do a lot of writing, then I could use help with research on topics.
Thanks in advance!

This will go a long way towards famous sites like GT getting added to the tutorial. But, more importantly, it will give credit where credit is surely due! Credit to the people who have either 1) Already created a short tutorial on something for SWBF or, 2) Make it so people CAN get credit for something they help to provide. And the best part? If your article is important, it might only be 5 lines long, but your name gets added to the credits for it and you help MILLIONS OF NOOBIES!!!
Prevention is worth a pound of flesh... Or something like that.

I agree, what we realy need are some tutorials. I've actuly started writing a few, one on modiling and one on sptest with more on the way. I'd happily colaberat with any one who can write a good tut. you can see part of my modeling and my sptest tut up on my site. im still finnishing the modeling, but it will be up soon. may the force be with you.

I am going to use part of your SPTest tut to add in info about it, if that's cool, L5R?! I will give you full credits as well.

If I have my way, this tutorial will be done by next week. Well, at least a Beta version of it.

RE: Help writing this tutorial?
Will the tutorial be dumbed down towards people who are not tech savvy like me? I really need to map for this game.

RE: Help writing this tutorial?
This tutorial will not contain so much "GeekSpeek" and will allow for those who have never modded a game like this before, to mod with relative ease. But, that's kind of like asking if "there are any good movies out there?" I can't speak for everyone. But this should work for most people.

RE: Help writing this tutorial?
The problem with bfbuilder is that it is Internet Explorer html based. So if you have a lot of page faults like I do, it gets frustrating to keep it open and it might crash at any time.

RE: Help writing this tutorial?
Are you just using BFBuilder or BFBuilder Pro (much better) if you're still on BFBuilder (non Pro) I think there was an update for it a while back but rather than that I'd move on or give BFBuilder Pro a go.
Information about command posts is included with the mod tools documentation, if need be you could copy, paste and then elaborate and clarify the wording if you think it needs it, also add screen shots etc...
Before you get too heavily into it make sure you know every possibly topic that will arise, make a list and then post it somewhere, here possibly and then you can try to assign different sections of to different people. Use the few tutorials already available, ask permission if you can use them or at least link/quote from them etc... this'll save you a lot of time.
From fred's board these are his categories for topics:
1. SWBF Mod Tools
2. Mission LUAs
3. Sky, Water and Weather
4. Vehicles, Units, Weapons, and Explosions
5. CPs and Spawns
6. Sides
7. Art and Animation
8. AI Behaviour
9. Terrain
10. Sound Implementation
11. Debugging
12. Miscellaneous
13. ODFs
Quite a list and of course amoungst each of these topics are many subsections and variables that probably need to be explained, so you can see it's quite a task. As well as that each section and part of the tutorial will need to be tested to make sure it's pretty much "noob" proof.
There are however plenty of threads and posts on here which will answer almost all of the questions, perhaps simple matter of collating all these into one place and dumbing down may be the start you're after. Hope that helps some.
