hi I need to get a skin back, I made a custom skin and put it ingame, then impspy deleted it and my desktop backup, without my permission.
i have the munged texture, but how do i make it so i can edit it again

You are fortunate that all you need is the texture, because right now textures are the only things that can be decompiled from their munged format. Run whatever .lvl file (or maybe just the .texture file) through this decompiler (as its instructions indicate):

It will give you a texture in .dds format, for which you can download plugins for GIMP (so that it can be read).
