I guess that's why, but still kinda weird.

I got that part, I just don't understand why they did it. It's not a big deal or anything but it just seems weird. If you're going to directly take something from another game in order to reproduce it, why alter it? :|

In addition to today's blatant fanservice update ( ), a couple new-ish videos have been posted recently:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QELKFEDfD4
This one has a lot of footage; it's definitely the best. Watch how much Lucas and Pkmn Trainer actually pwn.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4cvJLzh9_o
This one is a commercial recently released. It shows a bit of new footage of Subspace Emissary. It's got some genuinely neat shots.

The Dojo egg guts, the Dojo! GO THERE ;)

trust me, it updates EVERY weekday, it gives you notices of delay's first, and anything you see there is 100% confirmed.

http://www.smashbros.com

way better than any side just re-posting what's on the Dojo(unless it's for discussion, like what I did here).

also, a nice extra site is Brawlcentral.com, wich has alot of leaks, extra info, and they've analyzed the gameplay vids of brawl, to get even more information than originally intended obtainable.

Confirmation of the Video Being Real?
Shortfuse of SWF just contacted me and pointed out something very interesting. Here's what he had to say:

I started the "Japanese Forums" thread almost 3 weeks ago. It got some attention and was pretty popular. Gimpyfish grew interested in the way the SWF community was involved in this project of checking Japanese sites. He went to talk to a few friends who are major smash players in Japan. What happened later (and he announced on the SMYN podcast) is that he said he obtained some link to some great sites including what he though to be the Japanese Smashboards. It turned out it wasn't and the rest of the sites where just simple tournament sites. I didn't pay much attention to them. Gimpy did say since one of his friends would likely get the game early, since he hosts Melee tournaments. One of the tournament sites is http://ketubato.com . Interesting enough, this video surfaced: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VxrQi...

What's the correlation? Well, look at the user who uploaded the video. It's queensaki. Who is queensaki? It's none other than the webmaster of ketubato.com. What am I getting at? Yes, Gimpy's friend who he said was going to have Brawl early...who hosts tournaments is the one who uploaded the Brawl video to youtube. Yes guys, it's real.

I agree very much with what he said, and it looks like this video is indeed real, using the logic explained above. I'll let you be your own judge on the matter. We're still doing soem detective work to find out about the source of the video, so be patient. Don't go claiming that we're confirming the video, because we aren't.
More info on the leaked game above

Final Destination? read on:
Brawlcentral wrote:Image

If you look at the lower left corner of that image, Mario and Bowser are fighting on what appears to be Final Destination. The structure seems the same, as does the warping background.

Also, what's interesting is the list of characters. It seems to be telling how much damage is needed to KO a character under certain conditions. Basically, it gives the weight order for the entire starting roster! Notice how Zelda and Sheik now have different weights.
Brawlcentral shure is nice...

FYI, not getting updates from Brawlcentral, but Smashboards. They've been around for longer and seem to be generally reliable in knowing where they get their stuff from.

Not to get off the current topic, but has anyone else noticed how much Ike's Final Smash looks like Cloud's (FF7) Omnislash sped up?

That's only one out of four taunts. :)

Anyhoo, cool YouTube videos Mav. Looks the Pokemon Trainer and DeDeDe will both be in SSE, but I wonder whether DeDeDe will be a villain or if he'll work along with the good guys.

Dag, yo. And just when I thought we were done with the surprising Dojo updates, they hit us with this:
"Masterpieces" Demos in SSBB

Apparently Brawl has a bunch of demos of the games of their star characters loaded into Brawl itself (and some are hidden?). That's a nice little addition.

That's awesome, trials. Though I'm not too fond of time-limited trials, I'd rather have one level.
I'm not going to buy anything from the VC that's for sure. Unless they release Majora's Mask.

That's the truth. Only thing I could see myself getting off of VC would be Goldeneye.

Looking around, though, it seems that a lot of the Smash community is up in arms about this as a bad update. I was baffled because my first thought was "awesome!" Think it'll be nice to finally play Metroid or Earthbound, since I've never played them.

Yeah I haven't played most of those games either so I'm happy with this update, but I wish they weren't timed unless there are multiple levels or something.

Wow! confirmed sources on starting roster, strongest attacks, and alot more below:
Brawlcentral wrote:Tons of Info and Starting Roster Revealed!

I was just emailed by one of my reliable contacts from Japan, Kashikomarimashita (the guy who gaves us the CoroCoro scans both times), and he bought the latest Famitsu magazine. Here's some images, and below them is what was said in the magazine:

Image
Image
Image
Image

*Final Destination is now 100% completely confirmed.
*The ordering for character weight that was shown a few days ago lists the percentages that it takes to KO that character with Mario's Side Smash from the center of Final Destination.
*The best three attacks listed for each character tell which attacks have the most knockback, and what percentage they can KO Mario from the center of Final Destination.
*Wall Clinging is confirmed.
*All of the smashes listed are uncharged.
*Mario can be KO'd at 17% by a fully charged side smash from King Dedede. So from the characters we know, Dedede's fully charged Side Smash is the most powerful move in the game.
*The Pokemon Trainer's pokemon all get fatigued at about 2 minutes, even if you dont move them. They all show visible signs of fatigue: Charizard lowers his head and wings. Squirtle drops his front hands to the ground. Ivysaur's bulb withers.
*The Fanmitsu magazine confirms the starting roster is the 23 characters on the Dojo. (minus Snake and Sonic, and including Zero Suit Samus and Sheik)
Once fatigued, a Pokemon becomes much slower.
*If you do an aerial dodge the precise moment before you are hit by an opponent, it will reverse the attack.
*The game allows you to access the rules menu directly from the character select screen.
*When Sheik attacks with certain items such as the Star Rod and Beam Sword, she swings upward twice with a single motion.
*The damage percentages were determined in training mode against a dummy CP and do not take DI in to account.
*Wario's bite can swallow and destroy items and projectiles thrown at him. Everytime he does this, he takes 6% damage.
*The magazine makes no mention of being able to start as Zero Suit Samus at the start of a match.

Wow that's crazy. Also the Masterpieces is freakin sweet. At first I was like, o you need the internet. Wrong! WOOOO!!!

So i was at Gametrailers.com and watching SSBB http://www.gametrailers.com/player/29966.html video about the newcomers and at :12 a roster appeared and disappeared. I paused and took a screen shot. Only look if you want....
Hidden/Spoiler:

Now I'm not sure if it's real or not, but it's pretty good roster. and that's all i'll say.

Nice, but I think it's fake, look closely on the character shots, they dont look "SSBB'y"
and some of them seem a bit improbable, like

It checks out for believability, but some of the characters are in their concept art forms, which makes me think it's a fake.
Hidden/Spoiler:
If it is real though, remember that "Insane Falcon Punch That Destroyed Everything" video I posted a while ago somewhere on here? The bad guy that he punches is on that list! xD

The Zelda/Sheik image isn't there, it's just a regular picture of Zelda. Besides, some of those are pretty far-fetched.

That roster has been confirmed fake. Ashley appears in the WarioWare stage, and Ashley is on the list. There are other things too, but I can't remember them.
Hidden/Spoiler:
Midna, Cel-shaded Link, King K.rool etc.
Those are actually all logical choices. I'd be very surprised if none of those were in.

Also, check out the
Hidden/Spoiler:
Olimar
image. WAY different then from what we've been shown. It's a nice roster though - I'd be very happy if the real roster is the same.

The full roster will be released in less than a week. Be prepared guys!
