Cool it on the scratch brush, that goes for anyone using it as well. The way you guys are using it makes it look fake and unrealistic. To use it properly, scale it down and drop the transparency.Manny18Ply wrote:Got bored 185th Stormie commnadereven though i hate the uv of the helmetHidden/Spoiler:

My scratches are usually made at about 10-15% opacity (Transparency for people not as good with English).Labj wrote:To me, it look good, people who saw it before said it is good ...drop transparency... even more? when i did that i was using 50 lol.

Re: Glamour Skins, Seriously, 8?
Again I post this. Read it and apply what is necessary to a reskin. Scratches on Hrad surfaces should be light and not overdone and should go in logical areas of wear and tear.

Other than the out of place scratches, it is a well done skin that doesn't look "painterly".

Or, how about we post the work we want to post to show off, whether we be proud of it or not?myers73 wrote:so we now have over 700 pages on this topic, and a few dozen great quality skins. How about this go-round we only post work we are really proud of....?
SW_elite. You keep posting your skins. They're fine. Everyone's are fine, we all just have different styles and expertise.

Re: Glamour Skins, Seriously, 8?
Most of the skins I see in these topics are pretty good quality, and the authors should be proud of them. Yes, 99% of them are variations on clone troopers, and yes, that gets incredibly boring to look at, but from an objective standpoint that doesn't detract from the overall quality of the skins. At any rate, I'm generally impressed enough by the work shown here that I check back every now and then to see what people are doing.myers73 wrote:so we now have over 700 pages on this topic, and a few dozen great quality skins. Re: Glamour Skins, Seriously, 8?
it was not meant to be rude, but as this topic is for works of art, in a sense, it would be nice to get more than re-colorations and scratches that only take 10 minutes or less to create.

Let he who has never made a crappy retexture cast the first stone.myers73 wrote:it was not meant to be rude, but as this topic is for works of art, in a sense, it would be nice to get more than re-colorations and scratches that only take 10 minutes or less to create.
In any case (emphasis added):
Please stay on topic. Criticism is fine, but please don't start off the new thread complaining about the future content of the thread. Thanks!Use this topic to post all your custom textures/skins for SWBF2.
P.S. We are only at about 550 pages of this topic. G.S. 1&2 are only 75 pages (they came before board layouts changed and topics had 15 posts to a page), and there is no G.S. 3.

Re: Glamour Skins, Seriously, 8?
I like it.
The Rebel emblem with the circle looks a little odd, though, in how it looks. I'll admit. Looks kind of, stretched. Probably just the angle. Or the placement. Or both. Overall, very nice, though.

That skin looks too much painted for me.
