Toy Story 3

Post by Moving_Target »

I saw it. Midnite. 2D. Either way. HOLY DIET DR PEPPER!!!! Words can not described how awesome, wonderful, magnificent, purely terrific Toy Story 3 was. Worth the 11 year wait. This is like instantly one of my favorite movies of all time and is....gah....I can't even explain properly. Just perfect. Go see it.

I've been wanting to see Toy Story 3 as soon as I saw the teaser (and before that). Toy Story 1 & 2 ~ childhood memories for me
I really, really want to go see that movie, it's not out yet in Holland. (yet, if I remember this correctly.)
As I'm typing this, I'm deciding to go in a week, after I finished my last test at school. That would be awesome.

Gonna try to hit up the imax 3d version soon. It looks funny for sure. The copies online of it are horrid and filled with sub titles but is a cool flick. this will probably blow shrek out of existance.

Within the first scene it does. Shrek stands no chance. This is in my opinion the best show case of Pixar's work over their 11 films.

I would really like to see it, I love Pixar movies, especially "Up." Toy Story 3 also got 100% Tomato meter rating from Rotten Tomatoes.

Geez. After all this time I think I may be the only one in the world who doesn't care about Toy Story.

Am I all alone?

I'm seeing this in the drive-in for my sister's 13 b-day. Hopefully I wont be disappointed... and from the look of things, I don't think I will be.

It was pitch-perfect. Not much else I can add, honestly.

I almost lost my composure when they all held hands in the furnace.

PS: Totorro cameo FTW!

I teared up a little at the end when

Andy was sharing his toys before he left.
Plucking particular heartstrings is always what Pixar does best, though. Both this and UP have sort've hit on the same issues, though, in the impermanence of life and necessity of change.

Always traumatizing the kiddies, Lasseter.

Quite a great movie. Though I believe this movie's real target audience was the kids that saw the first and second movies when they came out. Andy and I are a little bit too close in age for me to have not made a connection there.
Hidden/Spoiler:
Like Era, I teared up a little when they were in the furnace. But I really began to cry at the end when Andy passed over Woody to Bonnie. It was a very fitting end. :)

You know, one of the themes of Toy story is what the afterlife would be for a toy, especially in Toy Story 3.

It's explored in this article here, specifically, the seventh entry from the top. It explains a lot.

You've missed the boat somewhat if you think the movie is about toys. Toys are the medium, but this movie isn't about toys, just like Finding Nemo isn't about fish and Wall-E isn't about robots.

The link you posted is just one schlub's unsolicited opinion. You can write whatever you want in a whole bunch of places on the internet, but that doesn't substantiate it. The "themes" of Toy Story (or any of Pixar's other movies) are divorced from the setting. The "themes" of any story that's not historical in some way are almost always divorced from their setting. The setting is almost always window-dressing.

That is one of the best movies ever.

It was hard, but I did not cry.

And Pixar wins again, and again, and again. The movie manages to hit a near-perfect emotional connection with the characters, and it had a Totoro cameo, which was awesome.

Pixar winds again. It was amazing... but it was a little dark for a Toy Story but it still was really good. You can never go wrong with Pixar.

I cried.
Hidden/Spoiler:
It might be becasue I'm going through the same thing Andy's going through. I'm going to college and I'm having to face the fact that I'm leaving part of my familiar, secure childhood behind. His face when he took one last look at his toys before getting in his car just opened up the floodgates.
