No. Add shields to the internal systems and hide the shield Generator under the terrain^
More off topic: May be a good map idea..

Even More Off Topic: You should do something similar to Abraxas: Platform, but make it equally orientated to ground and vehicular combat, as seen in your Sky to Ground maps

A little bit more off topic: Maybe I could start with space maps. Yeah..why not?^^
Back to topic: I am happy that the servers are still online. I hope this game never shuts down (in online mode).

The shutdown is still going to happen -- I've been in contact with Glu about it.

:L Could you PM it to me? Atleast a general time? I mean Gamespy should at least have the decency to tell us that.

Re: End of SWBFII Multiplayer
So the Gamespy servers appear to be 'offline' in the sense that I can't connect to my Gamespy account on SWBF2. However, I can play on both private and dedicated servers just fine.
Maybe that's what they meant?

I am praying so, because our community is still doing just fine like this.

Re: End of SWBFII Multiplayer
GameSpy is an "umbrella" term that includes many separate services. The login service is separate from the server list service. Even within a particular service, this can be split across multiple server machines. So even if an individual service is shut down for one game, it's not necessarily shut down for another yet.
So far, the login service has shut down, but the server lists are still available. For SWBF2 that works because the game doesn't rely on the logins. Most other games do require a successful login before you can access the server lists. Even so, this is only a temporary stay. The server lists are going to be shut down as well.

Man.
In more cheerful news, I'm reading on the Steam news that Civilization III will survive the shutdown. CIV 3. Of course, the company that owns the game is kinda still alive, so that contributes to it.

If you use the new exe it still works fine to join the server.

Re: End of SWBFII Multiplayer
It's a bit strange that it would be shutdown in the middle of the weekend. Doesn't really make sense. What's more likely is that particular GameSpy server has crashed, but whatever monitoring/auto-restart functionality had been deactivated earlier. Working fine on GameRanger as expected anyway.

Scott, can you tell me some of the differences between Tunngle and Gameranger? We are making a large clan decision and would like your expert advice.

For SWBF2 specifically? Or in general?Kingpin wrote:Scott, can you tell me some of the differences between Tunngle and Gameranger? We are making a large clan decision and would like your expert advice.
