Hello everyone! I am back from the dead!

I am going to be working on a realistic weapon asset pack. I will be making some realistic weapons. Here are the weapons I currently have planned for the first release:

Sawn-off shotgun[+]
Nova[-]
M4A1[-]
AK-47[+]
AUG A1[-]
SG 553[-]
P90[~]
MAC-10[-]
M259 SAW[-]
Negev[-]

A [+] represents a completed weapon. I tilde [~] represents a work in progress weapon and a [-] represents not started.

Now, if you guys have anything you want me to make, you may request it here, provided that doesnt violate the rules. Please post it in this thread and DO NOT PM REQUESTS!

Other notes:
Upon release, all weapons will be completely rigged and ready to go for swbf2. All weapons will have lowres, shadowvolume, and highres models, and possibly normalmaps or specular depending on the weapon. You will need to create your own ODF files, which is not hard. I hope you enjoy, and happy modding!


EDIT 2014/07/17:
I decided to start a project in which I need some realistic weapons. So, I updated the list of weapons to reflect the weapons that I require in my un-anounced project. Expect some images in the next few hours of some more weapons :D

Do to some real life issues, the asset pack is now on hold. Thank you and have a nice day.

What do you think of wild west guns like the Schofield revolver or the Winchester rifle?

Im going for more modern guns, but I could definately do a pack of old weapons in the future!

You should do a MP7. (I am no "gun expert", just remembered it from Black Ops II :) )

I'm all for someone modeling a Winchester for SWBF2, but you're gonna need to be more specific. Winchester made a lot of different rifles, and they look different and are also chambered in different rounds.

My suggestion would be either the Model 1892 or 1886.

yeah, I will definately make a historic (before and during world war 2) realistic weapons pack, since you guys seem to want one. But first things first, I have to finish my modern pack. :)

Historic weapons of the civil war in 1861-1865 might look cool.
Modern guns: The mp5 is a nice weapon for indoor fights.

You should add the CS5 mcmillan sniper and the Remington MSR sniper if your going for modern

I need to maybe make a better texture, texturing is not my thing. Though I'm working on it. Also need to fix a few stretched UV's, but otherwise, what do you guys think of the UMP?

what do you use to UV? I recommend roadkill. It is easy to use and you can see your changes and if it stretches or not in real time.

I use the UV editor inside of XSI, which works for me. You can look on the model in a 3D viewport to see if it stretches, I just didnt notice that I had a few stretched ones.

I can texture the weapons for you if you want. Just send me and I will fix them. I can't model but reskinning is not a big problem for me.

Great work so far! Can't wait for the UMP45, SG 553 and M4A1! I'd also love to see a G36C and an M98B (I'm getting these from BF3).

just over 1K tris (1084) which I feel is sufficient for this model. I dont like wasting polygons, and it looks decent in XSI. Will take an ingame screenshot momentarily...

Updated the weapons list again. I added the P90 and Nova, as those are more simmilar to the Mac-10 and sawn-off. I also removed the UMP-45 and XM1014. Working on the P90 right now, expect screens in the next few hours :D
