Dawn of War is an amazing RTS game with slightly above average graphics and amazing gameplay
Dawn of War: Winter assault on Max Graphics is better than most first person shooters (goto http://www.freewebs.com/darkmole-jedimichael for some screenshots i uploaded there (and there not even on highest)

Graphics features
Troops look like they are actually fighting each other, and in close combat you get death moves.
For example a fanatical priest with a huge chainsaw sticks it through a chaos space marines chest, lifts him up and throws him over his shoulder.
An Eldar warrior kills a space marine and knocks him over with a back flip
There are 100s like this, and the huge monsters and vehicles in combat are quite impressive
The graphics of winter assault are WAY better than dawn of war, and so actually requires more space on your pc

Gameplay:
On Dawn of war there is a story driven campaign following space marines.
On Dawn of War: Winter Assault there is a good and evil campaign
On both their are skirmishes and multiplayer games.
There are 5 sides:
imperial guard
space marines
orks
chaos
eldar

A new expansion is being planned to include a race named Tau, who have AMAZING ranged weapons and are a relatively new race in the universe of 40k.
There are also hundreds of mods on filefront and moddb, some which create entirely new sides, some which just add extra units to a particular side, and some which add new maps.

all in all 10/10 from me, 93% for the original from pc gamer, and normally 9 or 10/10 on all websites i look for winter assault.

Off-topic : Wouldn't the Warhammer 40,000 : Dawn of War Expansion you've mentioned have been called "Dark Crusade" by Relic Entertainment, darkmole2006 ? (Indeed, I've localized an IGN Entertainment Article - Located at this URL - which might meet the additional features you've listed above...)

lev, they haven't released dark crusades yet, you probably didn't read this text:
The second expansion to Dawn of War
it will include tau and a "mystery race".
The first expansion, winter assault, has 1 race, imperial guard, new units for all the original armies, and 2 new campaigns and was released last september, i now own it and am happy modding, and downloading mods, for it
