right now im debating all sorts of things, upgrades to new code for gt, converting to non postnuke site and just having a massive forums, no main page with news stuff , or if we keep postnuke , running the brand newest version of it , still trying to decide ...in short the current site is laggy with old code and with all these users we seem to have it we need to either update or make gt suffer so other sites on this server dont get laggy when 50 people are reading, writing, editing posts and downloading stuff. Ill figure out a good solution soon, looking mostly into just having a massive forum ;) no postnuke.

gametoast really has never been slow for me :? it has always just taken me a couple of seconds to log in and view topics at the very most. Maybe it's just because i'm in the UK?

i get on it just fine but i see on the server stats that some people with slow isp or many people during peak times (meaning anytime there is 20 or more poeple being active on the site) it is indeed slower. I want to change the site asap! Gt is not going to leave i just need to make it so its not running 6 year old php code that is just plain crappy and hacky. Ill update this once I figure out what is best to do.

Well, I've noticed that there are usually more guests than members on at a time, maybe we could make this a member only site for a while?

guru's working on it. At the mean time, use the "next page" button and Ctrl+F.

Ya i would say if you get search to work , you are lucky and thats awesome, if not, have fun looking manually through the forums. A solution is coming soon that may or may not affect the entire site regardless.:)

hmm one idea that would make the site run faster right now would be new forums, totally new code and keep the old forums up for browsing at say gametoast.com/oldforums or something like that. no one would be able to post in the old forums but they would be up to look at. Its a thought. I just hate using postnuke with all these users, its a massiv server load hog and right now i have to keep server use at a minimum till winter etc.. hmmm upgrade to new postnuke or just lock the old forums? and make new ones? feedback is cool

I'd say upgrade to postnuke. I just don't like the idea of these forums being archived, too many good things came out of them :P

Glad you got everything back up, Guru, especially with all the old forums accessible. However, rep+1 on the layout thing; it's hard to get used to.

Nice new fourm but the color-too bright-way too bright. Can't wait for the new GT site to be online, good luck.

Ahhh, now I have to work out where everything is again! I have to say, I prefer the older layout, because it didn't sear my eyes as much (I'm incredibly sensitive to light).

Still, there's plenty of time to change everything, and a forum is better than no forum, right? :P

Haha, I come back five minutes later and it looks much better! I've no idea who thought avatars on the right looked good, but at least you've changed it now. :P

Edit: Oh wow. This theme is much better! The pic at the top doesn't work yet, though.

Eww. Brown.....

I like how it's Star Wars themed though.

Does this theme come in black? :P
