Interior? The distance between the two sides of the ship where a hangar would be looks to be over an in-game kilometer if not more. While the width of a Star Cruiser is about 635 in-game meters...so uh...that's a lot of long and boring hallways and wasted memory. Major interior = excess lag.
OOM-9, go into view>display options (all cameras) and scroll to the bottom and turn on the headlight option so that all the shadows go away in your screen shots and itd be best to use the user view to get rid of the FOV that the camera makes, this is all so we can see the ship and detail a lil better.
The interior doesn't have to fill the whole freakin thing, just put a hangar hole or two in for a few simple areas (like hangars, turret control rooms, and all the standard stuff). On the other hand, it's probably pushing the performance as it is, so perhaps it should meerly have auto - turrets and no interior (perhaps even be destructable like a frigate...hehe). Anyway, exquisite work! I can't wait for this baby to show up in space battles!
I like I like! OMM-9 if you need any ideas for how the layout of the SSD top you might play that level in Rouge Squadron 3 Rebel Strike where you attack the Executor!
you should add some hard edges or just mess with the geometry approximation so that the ship is more rigid cause i can see some rounded areas on some of the edges of some cubes.
