Anyways, I would like to start modding for Battlefront II, anyone know some good tutorials and programs to use? If so, please post here, as I'd be very grateful and this smiley face will thank you.

Good modding tutorials?
Firstly, apologies if this is the wrong place for this, I'm new to this site and still getting used to the layout.

Re: Good modding tutorials?
The FAQ/Everything You Need Thread v3.0 is always the best place to start. There are tons of in-depth tutorials and discussions there. Always have a look there first. Use your browser's Ctrl-F page search function to search keywords that you're looking for, because sometimes it's easy to miss something in that very long list of tutorials.
I also have a series of Youtube tutorials for beginners. I haven't had much spare time until recently but now that I do, I will be adding more videos soon.
Definitely make good use of the Search function of this site (the magnifying glass in the top right near the logout button) before posting a new thread asking for help. 99% of problems you may run into as a beginner have already been solved many times - it's fine to have these problems but just make sure you check to see if someone else has already provided a solution.
You also asked about programs to use. The game has the "official" modtools of course, which I'm assuming you already have. If not, the download link should be in the FAQ thread I provided at the beginning of this post. For texture editing, Photoshop essentials or GIMP are the go-to free solutions. I highly recommend Notepad++ for text/code editing. Can't think of many other specific programs you will need/want. If you're trying to mod on Windows Vista or higher (it's 2016, so if you aren't, wow) then you will need the Vista/7/8/10 Munge Fix files, which are also in the FAQ thread.
I know this is a lot of info. If you have any questions about any of this so far definitely reply.
And welcome to GT.
