RE: Re: RE: Zab
Well GIMP is pretty much the basic version of Photoshop.
But if you tell me I could probably figure it out for GIMP anyways.

Its very easy.
1) Select the color white are forecolor and black and back color.
2) Use "Clouds"
3) Use "differentiate clouds" (Odd number of times, 5 is good)
4) Oepn the "brightness / contrast" window and set the contrast to 15 and brightness to 100 (dark)
You should be left with black and white shapes.
5) Use the "magic wand tool" (uncheck contiguos) and select the white parts. Delete them.
6) Do steps 1-5 2 more times.
7) Make a tan layer in the background.
Use the paint bucket to paint of of the "shaped" dark green.
9) Paint another "shapes" dark brown.
10) Move the layer with the black shapes to the top.
You'er done!

Either that or you could try and find a good pic of a camo pattern to like, lay it over the parts you want, make it transparent so as the camo is visible but so is the layer underneath. Then just mess with the hue and saturation a bit till you think it looks good. Jabba's method works too, but it's a little too much work for my tastes.
Plus, I don't use Photoshop, so I don't have all the features that it might have. I just gotta make do with my copy of Macromedia Fireworks. I don't even think you can get Fireworks anymore. Ever since Adobe bought out Macromedia.

My method is to do camo. Then you apply it over a skin and make it transparent... However, what i do to keep more detail is make a copy of the other layer too, and set the transparency of both the part you wanna make "camo like" and the camo texture at 50%. Then merge them and it looks better.
