Why is Zero Editor accessing the internet?
Well for the longest time, every time I ran ZE my firewall would pop up and say "zeroeditor.exe is trying to access the internet" or something like that. It was the DNS some odd 206.something ip, I forget. Why does it do that? Does anybody know? I always blocked it, which makes it load very slow (I'm assuming it waits in a loop to see if it can connect for a while then times out). So one time I got mad and said "allow." Now I'm scared it's like hackers or something

My firewall shows that message as well, with every .exe i run; maybe you've got some sort of same problem.. I can't think of ZE accessing the web!

Well if anyone see's it again, can you get the ip address? I've seen battlefront II contact places through xfire in single player mode (where it shouldn't be on the internet!). One IP showed up, 208.72.12.142 and just look at that link!
They be lookin at us!

How would they be able to watch you if you play single-player without a computer with internet-connection?
This is VEEERRYYY strange though...

Re: Why is Zero Editor accessing the internet?
I was gonna suggest it was a bug (considering the way ZE is) but since you found the ip, I guess thats not the case
Maybe they're not watching us or anything. Maybe just recording data from what we do. Like maybe just keeping tallys of how many times ZE is opened in a given day.

Re: Why is Zero Editor accessing the internet?
It's not unheard of for companies to watch for a lot of things. Some generals:
1-Are the mod tools being accessed regularly? *A basic example would be that they recieve [x] number of hits a day and by that they determine whether releasing tools is worth it.
2-Do any of these modders have potential at Lucasarts? *Only semi-likely
3-Do they have ideas that we should follow?

Re: Why is Zero Editor accessing the internet?
I haven't had problems *yet*. I still don't want Lucasarts taking my ideas, especially since I am working on a Republic Commando book series map pack. But, when we find our maps in Battlefront III, we can complain that we are the ones who made them, and make Lucasarts buy rights to use them. That will be awesome!
Still, I want them to stay away from my maps!
