Well, Cookie, normally your skins have too much battle damage for my tastes, but I do rather like the shock elites.

The belt does seem painted on.
Off-topic: Heh, this thread has over 1,000 posts. :)

EDIT: Ty, DRK.

Once again good for puting the right belt. And once again, the visor's too smal\large just look wrong. I give it 8\10.

I have one tip; the small air vent over the mouth is the same color as the visor.

Well, whats so amazing about that Shock Elite? Its just his normal shock skin with a red visor, you guys didn't make a big deal over it last time he posted it. I'm not saying its not a good skin, I'm just wondering why adding a red visor onto a skin suddenly makes it the most amazing skin ever...

im not understanding why parts of the body that would have no contact with anything have great damage to them, while the holsters, which stick out and would be fairly banged up and no damage at all.

No, I didn't, I specifically addressed his skin, which was the point of his post, this is the SKIN showcase thread, not the model showcase thread.

And if one applied a stock Droideka skin to a Bothan? Model choice is as much a part of skinning as tgas.

Well, it DOES look great, however DRK has a point. It really is no different than stuff we've seen before. In addition Fiodis, he didn't make the model (if you look at the credits), and we've seen the visor, holster, kama/pauldron stuff before.

That's just my opinion, I don't mean any disrespect to anyone. Cookie, regardless of everything, it's still pretty cool. Fiodis, you're a far better modder than me and you certainly have a valid point. Same with you DRK lol.

Again, just my thoughts on this :D

I'm not saying that the model isn't important, I'm saying that he's showcasing the SKIN he made, not the actual model. If you took all the shiney addons off, it would just look like a regular trooper with a red visor. Making a skin and slapping a bunch of addons on to it just to make it look better is hardly the point of the topic, but that seems to be what people critique on, the amount of addons a person can shove into one model. I'd just like to see the simple texture on a plain trooper model, because that is what this topic is for.

Well yeah, but why would someone try and shoot up your holsters?

If anyone shot up your anything you'd be dead. Have you watched any of the media?

The only marking should really be wear and tear, and what myers73 was saying was that because those hang loosely and jut out from the body, they would get more beat up than most parts of the armor (which is probably true). He is forgetting the "Glamour skins" formula in his assessment, though, which goes something like:
"Cool-ness" = BA + C

Where C = 1 if clone skin, 0 if not, B = % of body covered in battle damage, and A = number of addon meshes.

It's a very simple formula, and once you begin to ignore anyone posting "by the formula" it helps make for a much more accurate popular assessment of work. :P
