Chunk Gravity.... *solved, thanks!*

Post by Hebes24 »

I used the A-Wing in my map, but when it explodes, the chunks just keep going, I was wondering how to apply gravity to them, so they would float to the ground realistically.

I found this line in the Chunks section of the odf under each chunk:

Code: Select all

ChunkGravity            = "0.0 0.0 0.0"
Would I change it to....:

Code: Select all

ChunkGravity            = "1.0 1.0 1.0"
or something similar? Or is it something else? :?

As always, any help would be greatly appreciated!!! :D

Hehe, not many people have fixed that problem in land maps. What I did to fix it is to look at the battledroid chunk properties and change all the flyer chunk properties to that. Believe me when I say it looks much better.

Just do this:

//ChunkGravity = "0.0 0.0 0.0"

For ground maps. It will revert back to normal gravity.

How does the chunk gravity system work? Do the three values define forces on the X, Y, and Z axes? Because, if realism is what you're after, you should set the chunk gravity higher so that the chunks of your late x-wing fall and stay on the ground like metal instead of bouncing around the map like flubber on a caffeine binge.

Thanks Teancum!! That did it!!

@t551t551 - Chunks usually stick to the first thing they hit along with an explosion effect. :) And if Metal does hit the ground hard enough it can bounce, but ingame, they usually don't. At least with starfighter chunks.

Oh. I guess I was thinking of BF1, cause I remember that they would usually bounce a few times, and then stick.
