Wii or 360?

Want to know about a game? Should we buy that new upcoming release? Post your thoughts on new games and ones you have...so others can know whether to buy it or not! All non-SWBF, non-modding topics should go here.

the same for me about the reasons I got the SWBF-games...
I've never been a extreme "FPS:er" but I've got a few FPS-games for the N64 and gamecube...no really good ones but I've got some...

I'm getting a little bit tired of Mario but the Mario Kart/SSB-games are extremely fun to play splitscreen at...
last winter me and three of my friends was at my place playing Mario Kart Double Dash and that must have been one of the most fun gamingsessions ever... all of us got completely wild and at Rainbow Road everybody was screaming in the curves and just laughing the crap out of themselves... I can't describe the feeling but a real good splitscreen game is one of the best things in the world...

but I think some variation would be pretty good... but I'm sure there's no MP-game that's as fun as Mario Kart... one of the things I'll miss if I don't get Wii...
maybe I could save a lot of money and get both consoles anyway...but that would take a long time...

the graphics at the current/old-gen machines are very good too...but it can always get better..

and a 360 would have the better graphics and such and it would have some cool shooters and Guitar Hero 2 which seems really cool... I think I've missed a lot when it comes to shooters..

Maveritchell wrote:I suppose part of it is that I want the Wii to be better, just because I like Nintendo... but why not Wii? I feel like graphics are at a point of diminishing returns. Okay, sure, Sony, crank those graphics up. Will it really change my immersion into the game that much? Not really. I felt immersed on an N64, lol.

And then there's SSB. Of all the games I've played, it's really been the only one to never lose replayability for me. Since I don't buy games all the time, something like that is key for me.

And as for the controller, I'm still not sure I'm sold on it. I like innovation, but I worry that sometimes gamemakers introduce something innovative at the expense of gameplay. (To me, the touchscreen on DS seemed excessive/unnecessary, but to be fair, I never had one.) However- Wii is going to work with a GameCube controller as well as the Wiimote, and I don't doubt that many (if not most) of their titles will be compatible with both controllers, especially the ones that don't really seem to lend themselves to a less-traditional control scheme.

And then, maybe I'm still ten, but I feel like the games Nintendo makes are just more enjoyable. I like Halo... I guess. But FPSs are a dime-a-dozen. BF2 is the first one I've owned, and it's enjoyable, but I really got it because of the [SW galaxy] setting, not the gametype. I'll take a decent RPG to your standard Microsoft racing-game/shooter du jour.
I definitely agree. That was one of the few long posts I actually read :P
@ML_916 - My advice if you really can't decide: Wait 'till both of those system's prices come down, and then buy'em both! :)

Oddly enough, I had Super Smash Bros Melee for probably four months. I got into it for about a month, took it to a buddy's house and tried to play two player. Yeah, I was getting tired of the game anyways, but that pretty much puts the nail in the coffin when the camera zooms out so much that you can't tell which one you are and what you're doing. So I traded it for NFS: Most Wanted and have never been happier.

Good riddance SSB.

yes, Super Smash Bros. Brawl is going to use the GameCube's Standard controller for playing, so dont sell your controllers yet ;p
anyways, indeed Brawl is going to kick Diet Dr. Pepper.

@Zaborack - :) The trailers are even better the 460th time :P I would never sell my GC controllers... Maybe my GC, but not the controllers :)

[EDIT]

LOL!!! it's a realistic joke I made!! cool....

I've come to a conclusion (not exactly about which console) but do you think this is right?:
Wii - Will not have so many good "third part-games" (or whatever it's called then for example EA makes games for Wii) because game makers will see it as hard to make good games for it.

360 - More third part support because it's a more traditional console...

Am I right? or completely out of my mind?

All were released in America. The Wii and the PS3 r both back ordered now, so people who didnt reserve it yet will have to wait until the stores get more shipped in.

Lucky I guess. Somethings though don't start here at times. Depends on the market and the market here is gaming technology. So you can kinda say we are marketing guinea pigs in that dept.

Meh. More like we've got large populations. They sell it to us, everyone buys it, and they make lotsa cash. Then they sell'em to others.

Guess what guys, remember what I said about the Wii-mote flying at your TV? It actually happened to a friend of mine ._. The arm strap broke, the Wii-mote luckily flew into the wall instead of hitting his $3000 plasma TV.

Wow. Expensive TV  I have like a $200 32" :P
Anyways, yeah. That would be a large downside. I guess you just can't hit too hard...

really? he threw it into the wall? then it must be a great game play-feeling if people starts swinging so much that the controllers fly into the wall... cool!

if it really is so good feeling it could be really fun with Wii... it's just that I'm tired of Mario and doubtful about Nintendo after the "fiasco" with GC (it's great, just that there are'nt so many good games as other nintendo-consoles)...

and I'm a little curious to try out some serious FPS-games and the 360 looks really good...
