XFire GT Community?

Post by Fiodis »

A couple of other groups I'm in have this. I'm not sure if this was suggested elsewhere; I searched and I couldn't find anything exactly like this, really. The idea is that XFire has communities, which are groups of players with common interests. They could be members of the same clan, or they could get together once in a while to role play, or whatever. What about a GameToast XFire community? Of the two types offered, it could be Core rather than Unlimited, so that there's a ready, continually updating list of GT XFire usernames actually on one's XFire client. People could use it to send messages, organize events with their fellow modders, and more.

Those did come up in searches, but I wasn't quite sure what they were - is GT or GT-B something that anyone from GameToast can join, or only members of the GT clan?

Actually, [GT-b] can be joined by anyone, and members of [GT] are picked either due to forum activity or performance in an online match (and this isn't done anymore). It isn't based on the amount of time one has been registered on Gametoast. I've been here over 4 years and I'm still technically in [GT-b].

I think the whole concept of the [GT] clan tag has been disbanded completely, though. Regardless, I'm pretty sure the Gametoast groups on Xfire are open to any members of the Gametoast forums.

on most cases [GT] was a clan/guild years and years ago made up of only modders, usually just in swbf1 with 5 or less of us original modders. then over time it expanded to players and users of gametoast and we played in tournaments on websites that no longer exist we even got ranks and prizes but as the game got older and we went from 5 to 100 members it got too much to control and long story short the clan was mostly dissolved. Those wearing the [GT] tag now are either from gametrailers.com LOL or those who wish to have honors of showing an ancient force that is gone but not forgotten!
