Legion (2010)
Hard to say whether this movie is destined to be good or bad. I think I will see it even if the reviews say its bad. Critics usually concentrate on the concept and plot of a movie rather than the entertainment, and with this movie I would say the plot seems a little weak but the action scenes might be good.

I saw the trailer in theatres, and it looks awfully cheesy, in all senses.

Re: Legion (2010)
There is one option missing in your poll, pal: "Awful plot and a trashy looking movie - Will see it" and that's my pick.
This has got to be the dumbest and trashiest (is that a word?) movie to be shown in theaters for the past five years, I will gladly pay the price of admission to watch this train wreck.
Who knows, it might be even more laughable than that movie about a girl with a machine gun for a leg.

Yeah but Planet Terror was intentionally cheesy and funny. I guess that this movie could be trying to do the same thing... but I kinda doubt it.

Me and my family have this saying about movies like that; "At least it's not THE CLONE WARS."
Still, I'd rather drive a burning drill-tipped sledgehammer into my kidneys while listening to Lady Gaga then watch that.

I saw the movie and I agree with Rotten Tomatoes consensus of it.
Couldn't have said it better myself so if you don't think those things will bother you than go and see it.Rotten Tomatoes wrote:Despite a solid cast and intermittent thrills, Legion suffers from a curiously languid pace, confused plot, and an excess of dialogue.

Re: Legion (2010)
That's what I've been thinking too. I've been seeing film posters in NYC, and it's kinda odd, in a disgusting way, to see an angel with a gun and a sword, killing things, and weird demons and such. Could just be me, but I'm not overly religious, so I thought although my quips are with the religious aspect mostly, maybe it was a shared feeling.Dohnutt wrote:I dislike the idea of the movie.
Also, the whole "YOUR BABY MUST LIVE" seems too much like the first Terminator.

I think you're referring to my thing about Terminator, and it most definitely isn't plagiarism. However, it is very similar, in setting (from what I've seen in the trailer), the timeframe (the diner kinda points at "it's taking place during the 60's", although I may be wrong), and the plot, which most definitely is very similar.Darth_Squoobus wrote:That's called plagiarism.Grev wrote:That's what I've been thinking too. Nonetheless, it's anything but original.Grev wrote:I think you're referring to my thing about Terminator, and it most definitely isn't plagiarism. Well, considering that I AM an overly religious person, i actually happen to find this movie quite offensive, but that's all I'm going to say.Grev wrote:That's what I've been thinking too. I'm not too religious, but I still find it rather offensive. My friend told me that a commercial said it was about God abandoning His people, which just about completely screws over Christian faith through an incredibly violent and cheesy movie.Dohnutt wrote:Same.DarthRogueKnight wrote:Well, considering that I AM an overly religious person, i actually happen to find this movie quite offensive, but that's all I'm going to say.Grev wrote:That's what I've been thinking too. In other words, it's hideous travesty that will scare away a large portion of the target audience.Fluffy_the_ic wrote:I'm not too religious, but I still find it rather offensive. In other words, I don't think this movie will be as big of a success as it was made out to be.Well, I hope the movie wasn't targeted towards the Christian population, if it was, someone's manager must have been asleep when that decision was made, most Christians will almost immediately label the movie demonic and satanic.

Re: Legion (2010)
There are a lot of people that don't care about the fact that God is sending his angels to wipe out the human race. This isn't the first "Wrath of God" film and it certainly won't be the last. I doubt we'll be hearing anything from the church or community, nor will it affect the box office.
