Stunning a Unit
Well, just wondering how it's done. I've looked in the documentation, but it's not in there anywhere. I also have done a search. In the ODF documentation, I've tried some of the ClassLabels that looked likely with parameters I found, but they haven't worked. Suggestions?

Re: Stunning a Unit
Simply put, it's not done. Anything I or anyone else has done and called a "stun" has probably just been some kind of push or pull. Yes, the ODF Parameters lists a stun parameter for both cannons and areaeffectweapons (I think), but they don't work - and I got confirmation from psych0fred on this one.

Re: Stunning a Unit
Ah, thanks. So, if there were simultaneous pushes and pulls of equal strength, would that simulate a stun? Or would it just be a very minute push/pull?

Re: Stunning a Unit
No, it would do both sequentially. What you described is exactly how I did "Force Whirlwind" in any of the KotOR sides - see the Conversion Pack, my Sullust, Ralltiir, or Spira maps.

And it only lasts a second or two anyway...

Re: Stunning a Unit
Eh. The idea was for me to have some kind of a long range stunner or debilitator so that while the target was incapacitated, I could switch to my sniper rifle and finish them. I guess I'm just going to have to create a kind of long range "push gun."

Doesn't the dark trooper's main weapon stun the unit shortly?

Yeah I remembered that one too, it used the PhysicsActive command... I can't find the thread though.DarthD.U.C.K. wrote:mastersaitek made a forcestasis some time ago

No, it just activated and deactivated the object (removing its properties as a gameobject and making it a simple entity). You can look at the code in the "Released Assets" forum in his thread.Aman/Pinguin wrote:I remembered that one too, it used the PhysicsActive command... I can't find the thread though.

Re: Stunning a Unit
So, basically, a small push and jump deduction are the closest I'm going to get without really going in-depth?

Re: Stunning a Unit
look into mastersaiteksforcepowers topic in the releasedassetsforum (linked in the assets thread)
and see, if its to "deep"
you basically just have to copy the lies in your lua and the weapons odfn

Re: Stunning a Unit
I managed to create a slow moving laser that trips people up with -10 push. The trick is to not have a ClassParent in the ord so you can do that.
