Re: Battlefront Extreme 2.1
@AQT Tell me if i'm wrong but why do the 501'st troopers in the campaign have the new skins with the darker blue and stripes down the legs? Also I think they have different guns too, they like have blaster carbine or something. It's probably just my computer though BFII crashes quite a lot like when i'm on certain maps. Anyone know how to fix?

Re: Battlefront Extreme 2.1
have you installed the unofficial 1.2 patch? the patch changes the skins and weapons (however the damage and fire rate are still the same)
@Arc_Commander: increased reinforcement count would be nice for the future release

Re: Battlefront Extreme 2.1
Here's how the modes / eras are going to work for the final release:
- Conquest: Just the current BFX Uber.
- Uber: The current BFX Uber with extra reinforcements, for online play. I won't raise the unit count, as I've already optimized the unit counts for each map.
- CTF: CTF with BFX units. 1-Flag will be on smaller maps, 2-Flag on bigger ones. They'll go by the same name, though.
- Hero CTF: Dead simple. CTF with BFX heroes.
- Hero Assault: GCW only, just Hero assault with BFX heroes. Heroes will vary from map to map.
- Space Assault: The current BFX Space Uber.
I'm also considering BFX Deathmatch. Basically just 1-on-1 combat, a la Call of Duty. If I can figure out how to do it, I'll have the computer have an AI player to counter every human player - so say you're online and you've got 3 human players on the Republic side. The computer would have 3 AI players on the CIS side. It would be the same for space, too.
Might put Hunt and Order 66 in there too.

Re: Battlefront Extreme 2.1
Are these all going to be separate from the original game? Because I have the BFP on my original and BFX for a separate.
Also, ever thought about having camo droids like on the BFP?

Just delete BFX out of C:/Program Files/LucasArts/Battlefront II/GameData/addon and uninstall whatever other mods you installed.

Re: Battlefront Extreme 2.1
While I like the variety of units, the balancing leaves much to be desired. All four factions weapons are way to overpowered, especially units that use melee attacks. The enemy AI chews through your team like termites through wood, taking out 20+ units in a matter of seconds. This makes it nearly impossible to recuperate from the loss of a command post. I enjoy being challenged, but this is just frustrating.

Re: Battlefront Extreme 2.1
I honestly quite like the balancing. It's a far cry from the weak "Artificial Idiocy" of the standard game, and AI players can now actually deal out carnage on a level approaching that of human players. The weapons are not overpowered, I assure you; compared to the SW films, they're actually quite weak. Plus, the fact that weapons with ammo can overheat, that the weapons actually give recoil, and that the spread has been increased a fair amount offsets their increased damage.
If I weakened the melee units, they'd be useless for humans to play as. They can't enter a deflect state, so I recommend that you shoot them in the head as they approach you. They also will give killing the player priority over killing AI, as do all units in SWBF2, so position yourself in a crowd and use that to your advantage.
I'm not trying to sound defensive here, but if all four factions are overpowered, then technically aren't they all still equal?
If you still think the AI are too powerful, play your game on Normal difficulty.

Do you have the Conversion Pack 1.9 and the Phoenix 1.8.4 mods?SBFandrewbrant wrote:ok, i deleted the BFX file out of my addon, but theres still a bunch of ABC% things in my map list, and my maps still don't work. what now?
Install them in the following order:
1. Conversion Pack 1.9
2. Phoenix 1.8.4
3. BFX 2.1
NOTE: That mistake of floating icons was the order of the mods I installed. I installed them in that order and it was fixed.

Correction: You messed up your system. Any of these mods, installed properly, works fine. Only by some kind of mistake on the user's end is there any problem.SBFandrewbrant wrote:it messed up my system, and i want it out.
And if you ever have a problem with a big sides mod, if you can't figure out how to uninstall it manually, then just reinstall SWBF2. That should take all of half or three-quarters of an hour.

Re: Battlefront Extreme 2.1
Quoted for truth. If 1 person in 100 says it messed up their system, then they obviously installed it wrong, or didn't read what it can and cannot do. If it screwed up your game, reinstall. If you're seeing ABC% stuff, you most definitely didn't install it correctly.Maveritchell wrote:Correction: You messed up your system. Any of these mods, installed properly, works fine. You need the following, installed in order:
1. The game MUST be patched to version 1.1 to work properly
2. Conversion Pack 1.9
3. Phoenix 1.8.4
4. BFX 2.1
Bottom line, don't come in here making claims that we broke your stuff when you can't follow instructions. Yes, the first post didn't have much in the way of instructions, but it's been said multiple times throughout this thread what you need to make it run. If you would have taken the time to look before blaming everyone you would have known. Consider yourself warned.

Re: Battlefront Extreme 2.1
Ah, I think I know what the problem is. I guess he installed BFX without the Conversion Pack, and the included Conversion Pack addme.script loaded all the Conversion Pack map entries.
The solution: Assuming you don't have Conversion Pack installed, delete the BF1 folder from ADDON.
