Check all drivers and make sure they are the most current.

If updating your soundcard drivers fail then there's nothing really else you can do but trying to buy a new soundcard. Unless you play with sound disabled of course

Re: Vista BF2 Support
I had this problem, but don't remember what I did to finally fix it (and I never touched my sound settings again). For me, I think it was something to do with SWBF2 messing with the motherboard's integrated sound and the PCI sound card even when one of them was disabled. I don't know enough about Vista's sound configuration to say anything about changing any of your settings.
Keeping messing around with the configs and you might get it working. Make sure there are no other open programs which might be using the sound card when you play SWBF2 too.

Follow the instructions there and that should solve your problem. It worked for me. Unfortunately I have graphic issues on some maps like Geonosis; the ground is pitch black and the screen flashes a variety of bright colors whenever I move around. Do any Vista users who are running BF2 have any card suggestions?

The NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE is pretty good. I haven't had any graphic issues with it while playing Battlefront II (with Windows Vista of course).EraOfDesann wrote:Do any Vista users who are running BF2 have any card suggestions?

Re: Vista BF2 Support
The graphics on mine are integrated but they're apparently upgradeable. I guess I'll start from there, then. Thanks for the help.

Tell me about it. I had a 5-6 year old sound card that finally died, so now I'm using the integrated sound plug for linux, but windows doesn't like it so I got no sound there.Darth Revan wrote:Hey Dessan thx for the link but it dont go to the site can u fix it please and your a great help

Re: Vista BF2 Support
Alrighty.
Go to START,
then click on CONTROL PANEL.
Be sure you aren't under "classic view" for the control panel. You know if you are not in classic view if you see categories such as "System Maintainence" and "Security." If you haven't tampered with the settings, then your most likely not in the classic view.
Anyway, then click on HARDWARE AND SOUND,
and then click SOUND.
A window will pop up.
Navigate to the RECORDING tab in the top,
then RIGHT CLICK on some open white space
and select "Show Disabled Devices."
Hopefully, if you are still in the RECORDING tab,
a new icon will appear called "STEREO MIX."
RIGHT CLICK on the SETEREO MIX icon and select "Enable."
