Rollercoaster Tycoon 3
I am in love with this game. I recommend this game big time for any rollercoaster fans, or anyone who is bored. You can create videos from your rides, make parks, and theme your parks! It takes strategy and a big attention span, but nonetheless, I love this game.
Does anyone else play this?

It's a good game, I used to play it all the time. Then I couldn't renew it at the library any more.

Yeah, I used to play it a lot also, but eventually I got annoyed with the ridiuculously long load times and the lag that came up as soon as your park had little more than a handful of rides and any real amount of scenery.

Yeah, mine gets kinda laggy too. You can really tell when you're test riding a roller coaster and every time it turns towards the main area where a lot of buildings are it gets all choppy.Eggman wrote:Yeah, I used to play it a lot also, but eventually I got annoyed with the ridiuculously long load times and the lag that came up as soon as your park had little more than a handful of rides and any real amount of scenery.
It's really fun to interweave a bunch of coasters together and make them go under paths and through the custom buildings you can make.

It's a good game but I grew up on RCT1 and 2 so I prefer those to the newest one

Agreed. RCT3 may look fancy with it's graphics and have way more types of rides and attractions, and it certainly is a good game, but the first two are what made the series.theITfactor wrote:It's a good game but I grew up on RCT1 and 2 so I prefer those to the newest one

It's the same way with the Zoo Tycoon series. The first one and the expansions were awesome. Zoo Tycoon 2 was kind of meh. (I can "officially" use that word in a sentence! http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Strang ... 1315152720 )

Yeah I loved one of those RCT's...I cant rememebr which one though, cuz I would play it at my daycare. We'd all take turns on the computer and we'd get in trouble if we crashed a coaster or killed anyone.theITfactor wrote:It's a good game but I grew up on RCT1 and 2 so I prefer those to the newest one
I have RCT3 and its nice, even tho quite laggy. But from my memories, I like the earlier one better. (RCT3 has cheats that can get you in a dune buggy driving around the park...and running over people!!)

Re: Rollercoaster Tycoon 3
never played RCT 3, but i've lived on RCT 2 for a longggg time...
i know everysingle way to kill people in that game...
I remeber those time when i'd put closed sign at the entrance so nobody could get out. Those poor people hated me soooo much.
(ot to mention the fact that half the rides were killers, so if you wanted out of my park you'd have to go to heaven, or wait for me to take down cthe signs just to see the huge rush of people that could probably trample someone to death (like that guy in Wal-Mart on black friday) just trying to get out of my Tortur- *ahem* "Amusment Park"
amusing for me that is... *cough cough*

I've never played the 3rd game but the first two are some of my all-time favorite games.

Re: Rollercoaster Tycoon 3
I actually liked RCT3 over RCTs 1+2, but it had nothing to do with graphics. I mean, the graphics WERE nice, but I prefered a couple other things.
1: The ability to add your own music to the game.
2: Making a park in the Park Creator that has infinite money and doesn't need to have a high park rating.
3: Pools. My ife sorta REVOLVED around water at the time.
4: The ability to make underwater pathways.
5: The billboards. The ability to use your own images (i think) is very, very nice.
I really wish you could reskin stuff, and who knows, you may. I've just never tried.
Now I also wish that it were possible to make new models for it; who knows, if there's a 4, it may be.

Re: Rollercoaster Tycoon 3
It actually is possible to create custom scenery for the game. There's all sorts of custom stuff available out there. I used to browse around the Atari forums for the game, and there were, and maybe still are, some very talented people who made new models.Fluffy_the_ic wrote:I actually liked RCT3 over RCTs 1+2, but it had nothing to do with graphics. Yep; if you take a quick look on Google you're bound to come across the Atari forums, where you should be able to find out how to make new models, what programs you need, how to export, etc.
I don't know the first thing about creating it myself; all I know is that it's possible. When I had RCT3 installed, I downloaded quite a few sets of custom scenery. It really adds a lot to the game.
