In the Model module; Get>Primitive>Polygon Mesh>Octahedron then delete the bottom half.

Get>Primitive>Polygon Mesh>Cube
Select the four vertices on the top
Right click and select Weld Points To Target from the context menu then right click to end pick session.
You're done!

The method above will give you a pyramid without the need to rotate it or remove unnecessary triangles.

EDIT
Copy this VB code and paste it into the script editor(alt+4) then run it:

Code: Select all

CreatePrim "Cube", "MeshSurface"
ActivateVertexSelTool
SelectGeometryComponents "cube*.pnt[2,3,6,LAST]"
WeldPoints "cube*.pnt[2,3,6,LAST];"
Translate , 0, -2, 0, siRelative, siView, siObj, siY, True, , , , , , , , , 0
ActivateObjectSelTool
Translate , 0, 4, 0, siRelative, siView, siObj, siXYZ, , , , , , , , , , 0
FreezeModeling
ResetTransform , siCtr, siSRT, siXYZ
Msgbox "Here's your Pyramid!",0,"XSI Rules!"

Or a three-sided cone. :)

And you could use the smooth deform if you want to make it less edgey.

Like ace said or even faster is select the top 4 vertex's and hit ctrl+delete to collapse selected components. ;)

Don't waste time with downloading some meshes off the internet, 4 sided cone and you could then control the iterations on the y axis and on the base end cap as well.

That won't work, you'll need to select the top polygon then ctrl+delete.

There are many ways to create a pyramid in XSI, just use whatever workflow you feel comfortable with or take the script I posted earlier and drag it into a toolbar to make a script button so you can create a pyramid in a single click of the mouse.
