New Legions Training .:-Beta-:.

Post by redgroupclan »

This is my first map that Ive made for Star Wars Battlefront 2. This is just the early beta version. Y'know, Im just releasing it so people can voice their opinion and suggestions on it early. In the final version, the skins will be custom, and the weapons will be modded, etc.

The story line:
The Republic has just been sent a new legion of Clones, and they are undergoing a simulation battle while being viewed by spectators. The Clones are fighting their best in this simulation to show they are more than just a normal legion in the Republic. They want to show they are greater than the 501st. The elite, the best.

New Legions Training

There will be between 1-5 different versions of the map, with new legions each time, and hopefully better experienced-type modding.

Well, it wasn't what I expected. I expected somethig like the beginning of RC, but it's okay.

Pros:
  • Very good terrain and height. It looked very realistic.
Object editing. You colored a certain msh differently, which took me much longer to figure out how to do. It didn't really fi, but good.
Objects. Usually on a first map, there is tons of objects packed into a certain area, which is what you have here, but you make it work.
Some things I'd suggest.
  • Planning. Half of the AI stood around for a while until the enemy came.
Sides. You call it "New Legions Training", but it has the default sides!
Objects. It is fairly easy to get outside where you didn't want people to go.
Height. I'd suggest owering the height in your lua.
Missing texture. The side cannons on the LAAT's were missing.
Sky. You might want to edit the sky. It looks too... familiar.
You can PM me about any of these, but this really needs improvements to be a good map.

Otherwise, great job for a first map! :)

I've got to say I loved the way this map was built. I'd suggest adding a couple more Command Posts, and changing the sky, but other than that, great job!

Fingerfood, I did say in the 1st paragraph I was gonna side it. Right now Im still trying to find out how to get custom skins imported into it. And as for planning, yeah, they do need some of that. It is intentional for the units to get outside the main area, but they just wont until I add planning. I am going to change the sky file once I find juusttt the right one, and for the LAAT's cannons, yea Im aware the msh is missing. I originally put in the LAAT from Coruscant in, but then deleted Coruscant and just put the LAAT stuff in their own ODF and MSH folder so I guess I missed the seperate LAAT cannon msh.
