I've been trying to make a WW2 map for a while, so, obviously, I need ironsights. The method I'm using is
to basically have a weapon icon aligned in just the right spot, but it has a few problems.
- My muzzleflash effect plays in the same spot as normal first-person, not from the barrel
- I have to use the ReticuleInAimingOnly = 1, so I can't figure out how to have a reticule other then some custom one, which lacks ammo counter, hit indicator, etc
- It takes a while to position the model, and it changes place depending on the screen's aspect ratio
Is there a way to make ironsights anyone can suggest that would solve any of these?

Re: Ironsights Trouble
create a custom scope texture, some people tried it a few months ago, put a ton of work into it, but nothing ever came of it.

I did look at that topic, but wasn't smart enough to really follow it... So I'd have to re-UV the scope model to make it not wrap? Which model is that?

I took it as far as that topic went and a tiny bit further, but I was unable to change the mesh used for the scope from the stock one. It's probably hardcoded.myers73 wrote:create a custom scope texture, some people tried it a few months ago, put a ton of work into it, but nothing ever came of it.

So I'm guessing that I won't find a better way anytime soon. Oh well, at least I've got something...
Thanks anyway.
