Wow. Everyone seems like they're really hyped for this. OK, so I just got the BETA, but I haven't played it yet. I'll play it either tonight or tomorrow. :)

Ya my other map was like a day or two before anybody posted anything. I would like to have paintball guns but I can't model so that means that a modeler would have to do it. If they are willing to then yes.

@Stalin, what do you mean wall traps and hacks?

(question and thoughts) Are you going to make the bullets like paintballs and different colors and leave paint ball marks? You should make little paint spots every where so it looks like it has had a real paintball fight! You should have (instead of a sheild emitater) a guy/guys with a unbrella so they can use it as a sheild to block the oncoming paintballs!

Darth_Z13 could i be a beta tester for you?

and just something could you make it so when you "kill" simeone they die like a jedi (fall to there knees) not just fall on there face like a trooper?

That might be possible if you can edit the mark a blaster shot leaves on an object. (Y'know, the black mark it leaves) And if you can make it so that never disappears, that'd be good. And, I don't think it's possible to make different colours of paintballs, everytime... :? Maybe a different colour for every player, but I dunno.

@Dohnutt, do you know where those files would be stored? I modified the effect a shot on water does to make a small spurt but I still need to modify the colour of it. And I need to get rid of the ripples that spurt out LOL! That's a problem too.

@Darth Z: That's strange, I thought everyone was familliar with the term 'Wall-hack". The proper term is glitching: It's when people exploid some problem in the way the particular map is made (Like the possitioning of walls/objects) and thus enter inside a wall. Most of the time you can shoot out of, but not into, said wall, so the glitcher can just sit there and score some cheep and easy kills, which annoy the other players to no end. Getting into the glitch and killin them is no good either, because they just respawn and go back into it. So, ever sense I saw a statement by Teancum a while back saying: "What we need is someone who knows how to glitch, but doesn't, to find glitches and tell the map makers how to fix them", or something to that effect; I've been testing the maps (When available) for the Battlefront 1 Conversion Mappack, and reporting the glitches I find to Teancum, along with possible meathods of removing them, so that he can then go about fixing them. My understanding is that Tean-cum fixed some of the glitches with solid objects and the like inserted into the enterance, but I believe death regions where also used. This is what I meant by traps. The 'wall-hacker'/glitcher goes into the glitch expecting a nicee, cheep killing spree, and immediantly ends up dead upon entering the glitch, or finds the glitch not working.

Sorry for the rant. Basicaly, I'd look for the glitches in the beta versions, I'd then report them to you, providing you with as detailed an explanation, accompanied by screenshots, of the gltich as possible, so that you can remove the glitch before the final versio, so that when the wall-hackers get to the map, they won't be able to ruin the gameplay for everyone else by glitching.

I know what you are talking about! I usually find those spots once (on accident) and never find them ever again.

Can I beta test if you need help?

1. have you thought of reskining the tanks to be blue and red?
2. level should be located in a crater with steep walls and a "ceiling" just below the edge of the rim
3. debris all over the battlefeild. the debris came from a battle that took place in orbit.
4. Geo sonic cannons that instead of sonic blasts they shot blobs of paint (in RC the walker shot explosive balls of energy)

3. In the paintball mode one of the black cps. I never see bots there.

GCW CTF is messed up alright. I would remove it before the final version.

Great! I guess I'll release a beta version soon. I just want to fix some bugs like the invisible arms. :S

I take that back i had forgot there were tanks in the ctf

Edit: I was just testing the map for like, two hours, and i realized, glitchers will love this map, because i found a lot.

do the glitches change after you find them once?
are there any holes in the ground/floor (glitches)?
spawning problems? (you spawn and instintly fall through the level to your death)

there are holes in the floor and when you spawn at one cp, sometimes you spawn under ground, but you don't die, or fall, you can walk in a small area of snow, or what ever the white surface area is, but there's one object, the huge mountain like thing with the gun on top, if you walk into it, or drive into it with the tank, you'll be pulled under ground and that will make you fall to your death. Many more glitches i found, but i don't have time to post them.

Well since my testers have found many glitches Stalin I think that would be a good idea. I'll send it you later. And... good news! The AI are no longer 'broken' (can't think of a better word) and it's turned it a good ol' game of paintball with everybody running everywhere. It's MUCH better!

Edit: Almost forgot, in the CTF, why is it just regular shots? It's not like paintball at all. It's just like fighting on an old deserted wasteland. nothing like paintball.
