Hey, I am a newbie at modding BF2. I have been following Fierfeks AMAZING tutorial on creating maps and modding other features of the game. I munge my new map after following all his instructions to the letter. I attempt to load it up in-game and it crashes mid-load. I know why it is crashing too. I added the 'dc:' to the "WEPc_con.lua" (C:\BF2_ModTools\data_WEP\Common\scripts\WEP) file. As it says to do in the tutorial. FYI I am simply replacing the rep_inf_ep3_trooper skin. I then removed the 'dc:', remunged and it works fine. I know that my skin won't get in-game unless I add that 'dc:'.... So what do I do???

I have seen a couple of the same questions here and I haven't found an answer (I have been lurking for awhile).

make sure you have the "Common" folder for the assets/sides folder in your sides folder too.

well im thinking you forgot to hit Save As when skinning the trooper and uncheck the RLE compression, as this will crash your map. You can almost never just hit save.

I definitely hit save when I was editing the skin. I am adding "Common" to the sides folder now.

i believe he does have that in his latest tutorial, thats how i learned.
